Is a cheap phone necessarily a bad-looking, poor performing device? This year we are learning more than ever that great phones can come at a low price, but not many cost as little as the Leagoo Lead 3.
The emphasis is on design with the Leagoo Lead 3. The body is slim and is finished in a range of stylish colours that have a cool looking holographic rear panel. In fact the design looks a lot like some of the more affordable Oppo, Vivo, Doov units that are only on sale in China.
Gizchina News of the week
Going past the surface beauty of the phone we find a respectable 1.3Ghz quad-core MT6582 Mediatek processor running Android 4.4 Kitkat across a 4.5-inch display IPS QHD display. The rest of the spec includes WIFI, dual SIM, WCDMA 3G, 5 mega-pixel main camera, 2 mega-pixel front, and micro SD card support.
There are a few features which don’t looks so hot though. 512mb RAM isn’t all that much and the 1600mAh battery is a little on the small side, still this is a low-power ‘fashion’ device, and for just $70 the Leagoo Lead 3 is the best looking sub $100 phone we have seen in a long while.
We hope to see some mid-range and high-end phones from Leagoo in the future.
