Pre-orders for the OnePlus One start late October

oneplus one sandstone 64gb review

This should give you OnePlus One fans some respite. After about 6 months of launch of its first ever device, OnePlus will start taking pre-orders for the OnePlus One.

That might sound a bit worse than it actually is, though. That’s because, as you know, OnePlus works on an invite system at the moment. It’s pretty straightforward, just not something that everyone was used to earlier. It isn’t clear yet if the invite system will be abandoned for good or what, but OnePlus have today formally announced that the company will start taking pre-orders for the One starting late-October.

OnePlus will accept pre-orders during a finite duration of time. It isn’t clear how often or when the window will open, but it is announced that there will be no cap to pre-orders. Depending upon the inventory, you’ll either have to wait for your device to be shipped to you or have it sent right away. Another aspect is invites, which like we mentioned, might continue to exist. If you do get an invite after pre-ordering the One, you’ll have the chance to use it right away and skip the queue.

READ: OnePlus One review

OnePlus has been criticized for the invite system from all corners of the world. However, those that did get the OnePlus One have invariably liked the device, including me and our editor, Andi. That’s perhaps what has prompted OnePlus to explore new markets, India being the first of the lot.

So, will you be waiting until October, or will you buy something else?

Got tired of the poor marketing and wasn’t keen on buying to phone via re-sellers at an over inflated price, which was more than a well known brand once you factor in conversion to AUD$. OPO was a good deal when it first came out at the start of the year (at its RRP), but now others have caught up and passed it, so now there is no need to even consider this and there is no guarantee that enough stock will be available to fulfill all back orders anyway.

This sounds like the same exact system with a new name. Let me get this straight you “pre-order” your phone, but there is a small window to do it, you have no clue when you can or can’t “pre-order it and you have no clue when you will actually get it? Invite system all over again…

It has been 6 months now, there is no reason they shouldn’t have plenty of stock. Companies much smaller than him don’t have these problems. When you have the financial backing of OPPO and BBK there is no reason for this nonsense.

OnePlus One’s pre-order promotion is for a limited time only. Invite system will continue.

I’ve had two invitations that are totally useless if it can’t ship to your country.
If the master plan is to create a fevered fan base as Apple has achieved then its a hell of a way to go about it.
Until I read this article I had all but forgotten about the One Plus One brand. I have long since moved on.
What a spectacular miss , to strike when the iron was hot.

The thing with opo is their price and CM11s. That will still be attractive for the next 6 months
