We’ve seen the UMi Zero in leaked images and also taken a look at some of the specs which included a 6.4mm body, but one part has eluded us is the battery size, well until today that is.
Ultra-slim phones looks great, feel great, but unfortunately usually have smaller than average batteries which can let the phone down. We’ve seen plenty of 6mm devices hit the market which great hardware only be be let down with a 2000mAh battery or smaller.
Gizchina News of the week
UMi don’t intend to be caught up in this trap though and have revealed that their UMi Zero smartphone will boast a 2780mAh battery despite having a narrow all alloy body. Sure it isn’t the largest battery on the market but a good size for the depth of the device it sits in. Further more, UMi have announced details that the UMi Zero will also feature fast charging technology from Texas Instruments which will give you a full charge in less than an hour.
So far the UMi Zero is confirmed to get a 5-inch Super Amoled display, 2780mAh battery, alloy body and fast charging. It is also believed the new phone will be powered by an octacore MT6592T processor running at 2.0ghz.

Hi Andi, do you have an idea regarding the availability of that phone? Thanks in advance! J
I think it will launch in October. Not sure on the dates yet though
and its price … ?
This is getting really interesting. I’d like to get one of I had the chance.
I need a 5.5 inch FHD or QHD model with MT6595 Chip inside.
Can you hear me UMI???
B-)
Sure, I have no other work, but to customize phones for you!
Hahaha UMI actually did respond. The MT6592T is kinda dated now I’ve gotta admit.
Well…
Then, Meizu…
Please add another MX4 preorder to your 7.7 million figure!!!
Seems UMI has the head inside its ass…
😉
Why still develop new phones that are being presented as a “flagship killer” and what not with a MT6592 or even MT6582 SoC? Those are already outdated by now.
It would make more sense to use a MT6595 or even a 64-bit SoC by now.
Because it takes a lot of time to actually make a phone off a SoC. Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 805 on the 20th of November 2013 http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/qualcomm-technologies-announces-next-generation-qualcomm-snapdragon-805-ultra-hd-processor-232643031.html and it states here that manufacturers had their hands on engineering samples then. The first 805 phone came out around July 2014 and that probably was the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A, a full 9 months later.
The Meizu MX4 is still currently going through preorder and being the end of September/October we’re still around 7-8 months since the announcement so if anything Meizu got on board really early. Its not like CPU sockets where you can drop in a new CPU
The MT6595 is not pin/sock compatible with the MT6592?
Only MT6795, MT6752 and MT6732 seem to be. They’re different architectures it’s highly unlikely they would be compatible
Yes!!!
Some people is just retarded…
What’s so good about these 64-bit SOCs? They make it out like something amazing, but I honestly can’t tell the difference.
Seems to have onscreen keys i hate that thats why i dont buy huawei flagship phones
For 720p it would be fine, but I doubt we will get that. Price will make or break this phone.
Can we expect to use this phone in the USA under Sprint? It would be really nice if these phones had the capability to be used anywhere in the world, so that all markets would be enticed to purchase them. I absolutely love this phone so far, however I am unwilling to drop my unlimited plan with Sprint, just so I can get it. Sprint is the only one here now that offers unlimited everything. Please post good news!
