The holy grail of phone design, i.e. bezel less has been out of our grasp for years, but as design and manufacture catches the imaginations of designers the dream is getting closer to becoming a reality.
If these press images can be believed then the Otium U5 has the narrowest bezels of any Android smartphone from a Chinese phone manufacturer, it also appears to have taken a hell of a lot of inspiration from the Sharp Aquos Crystal.
Gizchina News of the week
Shown in silver and black colour options on the Otium Facebook page, the phone won’t be a high-priced flagship but more an entry-level smartphone. Specs include a 5.5-inch qHD, laminated,OGS display made from Dragontail glass for a little added bump protection. The SoC is a quad-core MT6582 and there is no LTE support (3G: WCDMA 2100/850 (HSDPA), 2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz).
Still the design is pretty nice and if the price is right the Otium U5 is sure to attract some fans.
What do you think of this near bezel less budget phone?

looks great
but I am afraid, if it isn´t just rebranded ulephone u5…
ah could very well be
why would it need soft buttons and still have a navigation bar?..i smell Photoshop…
Perhaps an engineering prototype. Those often have navbars until final release. Only speculation though.
I like it.
How much they pay to you, Andy, for that ulefonesque photoshoped pic?
the top and bottom looks cool but a bezel-less side is just ugly and prone to unwanted touches/taps
dont worry, it is only Photoshop bezel-less.
it is ulefone u5
The bezel is all around the screen not just the sides. Ypu can’s say thin bezels or bezel less if only half of it is that.
Besides that, not bad but i assume the real thing doesn’t have bezels anywhere near that thin, so pics or it didn’t happen :p
Only qHd ? That’s not that great. Also what’s the size of the phone ?
yo know qhd comes from quad hd right ?
haha, you’re right, my bad. I thought it meant (qHD)
