Another Xiaomi hit’s TENAA with new 64bit specifications which could be the new Xiaomi Redmi 2. Keep reading for full specs.
The TENAA database has once again spilled the beans on the latest Chinese smartphones, and it’s the long awaited Xiaomi Redmi 2 which is believed to have been discovered this time around.
According to the details the new Xiaomi will come in a range of bright colours including black and white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. However knowing Xiaomi it will take months for each colour to be released before fans get their choice of the full range.

The new Redmi has also been spotted over on Antutu where the phone only managed a score of 19,898 points, well behind that of similar priced Mediatek phones.
Xiaomi are belived to be selling the Redmi 2 for around 699 Yuan, while a newer Leadcore powered phone is rumoured to cost only 399 Yuan.

1gb ram and the snapdragon 410 kill that phone for me..i’ll hope for a international meizu k52 version..
the redmi jsut seems outdated..except for maybe design i dont know why someone would like for example switch from the redmi 1s to that one
You can’t really call this Redmi 2 since there is no real upgrade here.
That SoC might have an updated core but it’s clocked lower (1.2GHz vs 1.6GHz) and the result is a rather negligible gain in perf.
They might as well not even change the name but ,if they do, it really shouldn’t be called Redmi 2.
If this is the new and cheaper thing,then it’s fine but they can’t release the same phone and call it Redmi 2. Hell,the Redmi is 21 months old , they’ve milked it enough and it really needs a real upgrade.
so they should call it Redmi 1S 2015, like Moto G 2014 ???
I’m not going to buy any MIUI device with 1GB RAM anymore. Enough the frustation.
What a pointless phone this is from Xiaomi, don’t see why anyone would buy this over any of their existing phones, if they hadn’t parted ways with MT, then the 6752 in this would’ve been a good upgrade. As it is this one is best avoided….
at least 2gb of ram and a 5mp shooter would be good!

Considering Redmi’s price range MT6732 would be enough. Not much different than MT6752 and cheaper.
It should have 16GB internal storage and at least 1.5GB RAM.
5 inch display with not giant bezels. Matte plastic on the back and not copy cat Redmi Note design.
Sorry to break the news to you, but for the moment no more MTK processors for Xiaomi devices, which in my opinion is good news considering how hard it is to give regular updates to MTK-based devices.
Did Redmi Note 4G and/or Redmi 1S get Kitkat updates?
Redmi Note 4G was released with KitKat, not sure about 1s if it got KitKat from Mi
I just did checked, Lenovo S939 equipped with MTK6592 and got Kitkat early as March. As well I know Redmi Note still didn’t get it.
I’m familiar with Mediatek’s update and closed source issues, but I believe Xiaomi just don’t care update Redmi Line. If I’m not wrong Redmi 1s still came with 4.3 JB out of the box.
Also even their previous flagship Mi3 got Kitkat late as May.
My point is update timing wouldn’t be so different with Mediatek.
