Another phone promised from Elephone, but this one is a gem. The Elephone P7000 has killer hardware and is firmly targeting the JiaYu S3!
Elephone have quite a line up of phones, some of them already released and on sale, while others are promised to launch soon. The Elephone team are obviously excited at the prospect of their up and coming products, but we cannot help but think they might be biting off a little more than they can chew.
Still they keep promoting up and coming phones, and I have to say of them all I am quite excited about the prospect of the Elephone P7000, and would go as far to say that this could be a suitable alternative to the much anticipated JiaYu S3!
That’s quite a claim, but looking at the design, material use and the specification I am confident that the Elephone P7000 is one to keep an eye on.
Elephone P7000 – Design
The Elephone P7000 gets an “all alloy body”, that’s what our sources at Elephone have told us at least, and looking at the render at least the front of the phone appears be made of a brushed alloy material.

The rear looks like it has a textured, “sandstone” finsish similar to the 64gb OnePlus One, with what appears to be a dual camera set up. In actual fact the to lens is for a 16 mega-pixel rear sensor while the lower lens is for a fingerprint scanner activated by a press similar to the iPhone’s Touch ID.
The body itself measures in at 155 x 76 x 9.2mm which leaves enough space inside for dual SIM, a micro SD and 3200mAh battery.
Elephone P7000 – Specification
Attempting to take on the JiaYu S3 won’t be an easy task, but the Elephone
P70000 does have the right hardware for the job.
Up front there is a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080 FHD display, which will more than likely be an IPS, OGS panel for better viewing. Above the screen is an 8 mega-pixel front camera, while the rear camera is a 16 mega-pixel sensor.
Number crunching comes from an octacore MT6752, 64bit processor with 3GB RAM and support for LTE networks. Elephone have claim the P7000 will support FDD-LTE band 1/3/7.
As expected from a flagship Mediatek phone there is Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0 , WIFI, GPS and NFC and there will be black or white colour options.
A launch date hasn’t been revealed for the Elephone P7000, but the it will likely available in Q1 of 2015 with a international retail price of $249.99.

Surely yes ! Although I believe it to be a bit more expensive it might very well worth it, specially if the built quality is indeed better.
My handicap with the elephone’s is that they announce the P7000 while the P3000s is coming now to the European market … I would say that JiaYu S3 will win the race and hit the stores first and if that will be the case, that’s where my money is going to.
seems like the JiaYu will be only for the European market. Missing the 850mhz band for 3G . Now I have to remove that S3 from my list, along with the Meizu M1 Note.
My new list is now :
1. ZTE v5 Max;
2. Elephone P7000;
3. UleFone Be Pro;
*Asus Zenphone 2 (will probably not wait for that one)
Jiayu S3 still being a better choice, until the Elephone P7000 specifications come better! Cause Jiayu has NFC, apparently a very good GPS, because of Glonass support. Gorilla Glass III, and a confirmed Sony IMX214 sensor! This P7000 says 16MP, but we need to wait and see if is real 16MP sensor, also S3 has a Removable battery, we need to see if P7000 does. Anyway, P7000 is looking way more gorgeous than S3.

It is only to be seen how prices will settle when buying from international resellers and eventual launch. Jiayu has a tendency to be too ‘optimistic’ when it comes to that.
Yeah, I’m going with S3 until now, but I’m going to see if something better comes out, cause I’m going to wait 2-3 months to the 3GB Ram version become available. The LTE on all MTK6752 will work on my country. Jiayu has good reputation and his phones are well made, but his prices are outdated, you know on MTK6577 or MTK6589 pay over 200 on a good phone are normal, but now the normal is good value for money, I hope Jiayu make a change with S3, because the G6 was a big mistake on price.
Exactly, I don’t understand why elephone this time has not supported the fdd lte band 20.
Kind of looks like a Huawei inspired phone. Elephone has a bad reputation of announcing phones several months before releasing them, or not releasing them at all.

P7000 is a killer phone and it may go on killing one plus and possibly 2,3 more prominent brands BUT 250$ is a price a bit steep. a 200$ price tag (for locals AND international customers) should be v.competitive. It cant kill Jiayu S3 if its MILES ahead of the latter’s price tag.
I’m now genuinely confused … should i buy the cheaper Jiayu or wait for a more costly elephone to drop prices a bit and then go for it. This is neck and neck but many people will seemingly go for price , since quality is more or less at par here.
I agree, $250 is expensive; 150-$200 is more reasonable. Once they come in ONE+ territory price wise, they will lose the battle for sure. I’m in Canada and One + is on every forums.
Not so much for Jiayu and Elephone. Once you hit 250-300, many ppl will say “Well…for just $50 more, just get the ONe+”
And that’s what they’ll do here.

Only crazily competitive prices can win you customers now and P7000 is gonna fail at that if it goes beyond 200$

Sorry about that I wrote this quite early in the morning (in the UK at the moment). Feels like we are always writing about an ‘up coming’ Elephone, hope this one launches eariler than the rest.
P5000 has area-type fingerprint sensor integrated with home botton such as iphone. P7000 has area-type fingerprint sensor on back side such as Hauwei Ascend Mate7 and Oppo N3.
hey guys, can someone tell me if the qualitiy of elephone phones is good? because i have a reseller who sells it and they will release it for 151€ (150€ jiayu s3) on the first day exclusive so i thought this might be a nice phone
where i can buy the pre-sale of p7000?
How can they still make phones with no gorilla glass? or at least dragontrail or something?
Am i missing something?
