Huawei dropping the Ascend name and launch the P8 are only parts of Huawei’s big picture, a larger Mate 8 phablet is also on the table too.
Gizchina Twitter follower Sasha Babyuk, sent the following images to us today which are believed to be of the successor to the beautiful Huawei Mate 7. The images of the alleged Mate 8 show a gold and black colour similar to most of Huawei’s special edition top of the range phones.
Gizchina News of the week
No details of the specifications have surfaced but the phone will likely retain a rear finger print scanner, have a 6-inch+ display and possible the latest Kirin 950 processor with up to 4GB RAM.
Hopefully we will see the new Huawei Mate 8 and P8 either during MWC or shortly after.

Assuming that Kirin 950 even exists and the actual name is not 930 , it won’t be in devices soon. It’s more of a Q3 thing, now it’s just too early for TSMC 16nm.
Looks like another 6.5 inch “Phone” but as long as it has a larger than normal battery capacity, this may be a good buy.
It looks like Mate 7 with 2.5 D glass and bigger speaker grills .
But I think it’s not Mate 8 for sure .
Mate 7 got launched a few months back .
They won’t bring a successor so early .
The first Mate 8 case here looks nice http://www.spotga.com/2015/11/huawei-mate-8-cases.html Hope to see more cases coming out soon
