Meizu m1 note gets the teardown treatment

Meizu’s budget friendly Meizu m1 note gets the teardown treatment revealing the innards of the sub 1000 Yuan phone plus shedding a little light on some of the design details.

The unibody Meizu m1 note has been ripped apart for our viewing pleasure, and overall the process looks rather simple, and may mean easy home repair (if you were feeling brave).

Going over the teardown posted at MeizuNews.com, the steps to dismantle the m1 note seem simple with no special tools required other than a suction cup to prise the screen assembly from the polycarbonate shell.

The teardown reveals a surprisingly simple construction comprising of few internal components that include the main mother board, magnesium alloy chassis, battery, and lower PCB for the USB, antenna etc.

Reading through the teardown there are a few interesting points including the weight of the chassis, just 16g, and the UV coating for the rear shell to add a glossy finish and slight stain protection. The teardown also mentions reasons for why the plastic lid to the dual SIM tray is loose, a detail that many reviewers have wrongly claimed is due to build quality.

With Meizu set to launch the smaller Meizu m1 mini in two days we hopefully won’t have to wait too long before we see what makes it tick also.
