Android 5.0 Lollipop comes to the Nubia Z7 Max

nubia z7 max

Lollipop makes its way to the large screen Nubia Z7 Max with the latest Nubia UI ROM.

Nubia 2.8 has been announced in China for the Nubia Z7 Max, and while it isn’t a stable build just yet it does begin the sweet Lollipop rollout for the flagship Nubia range.

As well as bringing the latest version of Android to phone, improvements include new animations, updated camera interface, a new lock screen and status bar. So far most of the bugs reported are to do with 3rd partly applications.

Gizchina News of the week

If you want to run the Android 5.0 update on your Nubia Z7 Max you must do so via a manual update, and also remember that this is a beta ROM and not really meant for non developer use.

All the necessary files can be found over on the Nubia forum in China.

I’m not going to upgrade mine to Lollipop. I have it on my Nexus 7 and I’m not really impressed. Besides, there are certain apps that I love and rely on like LeanDroid where you lose certain functions. Kitkat for me.

From classy to trash – pathetic stuff – upgraded last night, repenting badly. There’s also no way to go back to the last KitKat Rom, since there’s repartitioning involved.

What a fail – this Rom’s UI makes the phone look like a 720p handset.

Hate to say “I told you so!” It’s perfect on kitkat.

I have said this all along: I would much rather have a stable version of an older Android than a rushed, buggy version of the newest one.

Dear Nubia, I understand that software engineers are expensive so why don’t you just release that damn source code and let people on XDA taking care of things you have been miserably failed?!?

There’s actually quite a lot of custom roms and kernels for the z7 max on chinese forums and italian forums. My z7 max is running at 2.7ghz

Well, you just confirmed what I meant. Since they can’t make any good ROM just release the source codes so people like Cuoco of Androidiani can make custom Roms without spending whole months with it. If I said what I’ve said it’s because I know what I’m taking about.
