OnePlus has been a rather radical manufacturer, not only with its only phone, but also with the marketing strategy it chose to follow.
According to a OnePlus employee and co-founder, the company will be releasing a drone next month. OnePlus has extensively been teasing a new product for April, and thanks to a Reddit AMA that the company hosting a while back, it is now known that the new launch will be nothing but a drone.
Some DJI drones
Not a lot is known about the OnePlus drone apart from the fact that it is going to launch next month. What OnePlus has in its favour is that the company is based in the world’s drone heart of China; right from the makers of the world’s smallest drone — the Cheerson CX-10 — right up to the OEMs behind some of the most popular consumer drones — DJI — are made in China.
Gizchina News of the week
Drones come in various shapes and sizes, and with different features; expect this one to have the ability to mount an action camera, if not have an on-board one… in case of which there might also be an FPV variant.
The OnePlus drone (not sure what they’ll call it in the end) should be affordable like its first smartphone… as for me, I’m expecting a sub-$350 price tag on this one. Hardly anything good under the $500 entry-level range is available as of now, and that’s a market OnePlus have for exploitation.
What do you think? Let us know of your expectations from the OnePlus drone.

but why do drones exist?!
why should one buy these?
wasteful cash anyone?
I’m a lover of drones, and I’m offended.
Jokes apart, drones are a very serious hobby, and film makers these days swear by the aerial shots that only drones make possible.
thanks for this i had the same question too but now at-least i have the reason to why……..
apologies man.. i never knew someone took Drones sooo seriously…
of course you don’t. you spout crap without even researching anything, thankfully it’s internet not real life.
how about you shut the fuck UP!
i never apologised to you..
It was a friendly advice, you can try to do that in real life and see how well that’ll goes. I suggest don’t though.
“spout crap” very friendly indeed !
i suggest you double check wording BEFORE posting “friendly advice”
also , now i should apologise as you made your stance clear , since i like to keep things fair.
also , im in a bit of overwhelm as you can SEE above.
anyways…
Sorry man.
Yes drone-based photography/filmography is an up-and-coming niche segment. Anyone into photography and filming now would be smart to pick one up and start learning — good for future employment opportunities.
Amazing, just a couple years ago you’d have to hire a helicopter outfitted with a camera mounted to a gyro for stabilization and crew to get aerial shots. Now, a dinky drone a fraction of the size (and cost) can achieve the same results if not better because drones can fly closer to their targets (ie. waterfalls, etc…) where helicopters couldn’t for safety issues. Not to mention most countries haven’t laid out any laws or rules for drones yet, so you don’t need any licences or permits to fly one.
And why do YOU exist ??? Big question !
to counter the stupidity that the likes of u bring to this already infested world -_-
😉 looks like your useless.
aww.. shut up u cunt!
I guess you missed that guy who hoocked his drone to a VR headset,sh1t was like GTA live action crazy awesomeness
thanks homie. Now THATS a cool answer…
just shows how you can answer any kinda criticism without being MASSIVE CUNTS @desponent:disqus
It will be a rebranded cheerson cx-20 for sure !
my thoughts
Sounds like something destined to be released on April 1st, as in April Fools day, as a publicity stunt.
Now that you bring it up, it might actually be true. Should’ve crossed my mind!
i also think that a drone might be very exotic for the global market aswell
Yes, you are probably right !
it seems as totally miss product. Not a lot of people will need it. Maybe I am wrong but market still does not have big interest in those kind of product.
If it never settles it will be difficult to control
Damn, that cracked me up big time.
And tampons Oneplus ? When ? 🙂
isn’t strange that DJI also has a new release scheduled this week ?
