After briefly disappearing on Sunday night for “unusual user rating activities” Chinese software security firms, Qihoo 360’s mobile applications have been reinstated on to the Apple App Store.
The company which is known in China for it’s somewhat ‘fishy’ marketing schemes, one of which has seen Qihoo 360’s web browser surpass Microsoft’s Internet Explorer for downloads, reached out to Apple after all of their Apple apps were removed from the App store.
Gizchina News of the week
Apple replied saying that they were investigating some “unusual user rating activities” relating to Qihoo 360’s applications, but today has placed them all back on the store for download once more.
We’re not entirely sure what has happened, but it looks as though Apple caught Qihoo 360 fiddling with the App ratings, but has not managed to prove it.
We wonder how long it will be before other, less than trustworthy Chinese developers are thrown from the App store?
