DJI, one of China’s tech darlings, have today released two new versions of their popular Phantom aerial drone with up to 4k video support.
The DJI Phantom remains a popular drone for photographers and aerial videographers around the world. The Phantom is such a popular drone that there are many clones available from competing Chinese brands.
The latest version of the Phantom, the DJI Phantom 3, was announced today in Shenzhen. Two variants of the quad-copter are not available an ‘advanced’ version with 1080 video capabilities for $999, and a professional model with 4K video support for $1259.

As well as offering two models there are also updates to the DJI application, the drone is more stable to fly, and the GPS and live HD video feed functions have been updated.
The new DJI Phantom application even offers live streaming to Youtube and Youku meaning real-time video across the web.
DJI drones and quads are available around the world from various online and offline stores.

Great toys for adult, I’m really tempted to get one myself.
It’s kinda expensive though, and the biggest downside is battery autonomy. IMO they should focus on bringing them up to at least one hour autonomy rather than get 4k videos.
