First impressions of the $100 Doogee Iron Bone, a phone I wouldn’t even bother letting my dog bury.
Before I leave the office for the night, here is a quick first impressions of the Doogee DG750 Iron Bone (stupid name!), a phone which has me believe that Doogee have lost their minds (and not in the good way!).
Usually on a Friday evening and the DHL man comes a knocking I’m very excited and I’ll stick behind late to make a quick hands on video, but not tonight. You see instead of receiving one of the exciting phones from Elephone, Mlais or Bluboo, I’ve just received the Doogee DG750 Iron Bone. I already tried this phone at MWC and thought what utter junk it was then, and upon opening the box when it arrived today I have the same opinion.
The Doogee DG750 Iron Bone comes at a time when $100 Android phones are shipping with 64bit processors, LTE, Android 5.0 Lollipop and HD displays. The ‘Iron Bone’, named for the shape of the metal frame, has none of that, nothing even remotely close!
At the heart of the DG750 is last years octacore Mediatek MT6592 chipset, why? Why oh why would we want an MT6592 in this phone? If you are going to go last gen why not be sensible and use an MT6582, then with the saving boost RAM 2GB, or add a HD display?
So we have an octacore processor with a bottle neck of 1GB RAM running Android 4.4 Kitkat on a 4.7-inch 960 x 540 resolution display and 2000mAh battery. It’s almost as if the DG750 Iron Bone was actually produced early in 2014, but Doogee management simply forgot about it until this year, at $100 it has no right being a budget 2015 phone.
Gizchina News of the week
Doogee claims the cameras are an 8 mega-pixel rear and 5 mega-pixel front, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the front is 2 mega-pixel and the rear a 5 mega-pixel.
The only highlight of the phone is the “CNC aluminium Zinc alloy frame”. It feels sturdy and gives the phone a substantial feel. It also add a nice bit of weight to the device offering you better accuracy for when you ultimately throw it in the trash.
I’m not going to go in to great detail about the rest of the phone at this point as I have visions of myself recreating this morning’s UMi Hammer smash test with the “Dog Bone” (I might anyway).
If you think I am being harsh about the phone then I am sorry but I cannot agree. For $99 Bluboo have the C100, a phone which has a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720) display, 64bit processor, LTE and Android 5.1, then there is the Elephone G2 for $99 (or less if you shop about) boasting a choice of ROMs, 64bit MT6732, LTE and larger 2300mAh battery.
Anyway less ranting and to the point. If you want an out of date phone you can enjoy counting the pixels on for $100 buy the Doogee DG750 Iron Bone, if you want an actual decent usable phone made by companies who understand customers want LTE and Lollipop then head to Elephone or Bluboo.

I guess they wont be sending Andy any review samples anytime soon 😉
judging by the crap they send him I am sure they won’t be missed
AHAHAHAHA true!
Lol…this phone must be a real crap. I don’t remember ‘seeing’ Andi this pissed before. Doogee, happy now? U made Andi really pissed off *angry face*
But Andi, it has CNC aluminium Zinc alloy frame!
I know plus “liquid metal design; ultra slim frame” 😉
If Doogee Give me money i will not take this phone.
The elephone G2 has a resolution that was normal in 2010, which is really a dealbreaker…. and ofcourse it’s the materials that’s better on this Doogee and the small bezels (for a budget phone) are nice.
low res = top batt 🙂
(God willing)
That CPU still means poor GPS though 🙁
Yep the Doogee has the G2 on the alloy body. But the G2 ships with an up to date chipset, with decent GPS and Android 5.0. All Doogee need to do with this phone is put some thought in to the specs. Get rid of that octacore and use a quadcore, add a HD display and if there is enough money left 2GB RAM or a piggy back LTE modem. Then you have something worth the money.
HaHa quality review Andi!
Love the bit about the nice addition of weight for when you throw it in the bin lol!
Genious!
lol that’s how i felt about the Xiaomi Mi Note , if you are gonna charge 370$ in 2015 you can’t go SD801 and 1080p but God forbid you point out the obvious about Xiaomi.
Yea because the Mi Note is just as bad as the Doogee, especially in terms of display, performance and camera….
@Andi – not a bad rant, especially the title, but only 6/10 because you didn’t follow through with the drop test plan or smash it with the hammer 😛
p.s. any news on the Elephone G2… or any idea if it has dt2w? Am tempted 🙂
Drop test planned, actually have a G2. Not bad phone, but the new Bluboo sounds better for the money.
Does the G2 have dt2w and how is the battery life? Bluboo sounds fantastic too, but the larger battery and lower resolution of the G2 is appealing for my (African) usage scenarios, providing it isn’t messed up with shitty software of course! Will look forward to the reviews 🙂
You could actually smash the bone with the hammer. I mean Umi Hammer.
I don’t think Doogee is even worthy of the 5-10 minutes of your time to conduct a drop test. The only drop test you should do is how long it takes the phone to hit the bottom of the trashcan.
Andi are u fuqin kidding me??
I got this phone for two days and I’m happy about it. Last month I used Ulefone Be X (almost the same price) and compared it to the Doogee, i definetly see that DG750 is a class above in almost every aspect! More vivid bright colors, better camera, incomparably better quality of construction. Perfectly fluent interface.
The LED is better in Ulefone. And there are terrible partitions in doogee ROM storage, but you can fix it with some little advanced operations.
Andi believe me Andi I know what I’m saying. I had a lot of Chinese phones (Xiaomi MI3, MI4, Nubia z5s mini z7mini, IUNI U2 and many others) but what you wrote is bullshit.
It’s absolutely not fair.
And I’m not even a fan of any Chinese brand (well, maybe a little Xiaomi:)
How do you move from a Mi4, Z5s, a Z7 mini and a IUNI U2 to this phone? It’s quite some steps back on more than one level…
Simply because I use two phones at the same time. Primary (now my favourite, beloved Mi3) and secondary(from yesterday Doogee).
Im kind a freak, and usually i change second Phone once a month.
Thats why.
Fair enough 😉
I have a Mi4 for my personal phone, an Iocean X8 for my work phone and I always keep a budget phone for when I travel (currently Redmi 1s).
The Ulefone Be X is just as bad, it almost matches the specs for the Doogee. That is not saying much if the Doogee is a class above it. Now if you had said you used something like the Elephone G2 then your comment might hold some weight.
I agree with you , it seems that Andy are only takes care about the processor and modem. I will not care more with the reviews of Andy or Christopher Straßer (because of kingzone z1, only agree in the battery ) . the mtk6732 is a more expensive chip that mtk6592m , it is impractical to sell a smartphone with good build quality using this soc for $ 100 ( elephone g2 is the GALAXY Y in terms of bad plastic )
Why are you upset with the Kingzone Z1 review? Kingzone lied about the majority of their specs and the overall phone wasn’t that good. Especially when compared to the K1 which was an excellent phone. Reviews around the web have been just as critical of it. Would you rather they lie about a review like many on the web do, because they are being paid by the company? Kingzone didn’t deliver on many of their promised specs that is their fault not Christopher’s.
I bought the Kingzone Z1 as well; even knowing they had lied about the specs. Simply, I just liked the look of the phone.
After most of the reviews, I must say I was expecting a dog of a phone; the complete opposite is the case. I have their latest OTA updates of 31 March 2015 installed and I’m delighted. I use the OPEN CAMERA app and the photo’s are brilliant; images are sharp, and camera focus is near instant. GPS works extremely well; I get okay SNR’s (around 30) on 10 satellites inside a minute and accuracy of around 2 meters. And even though the Z1 only has a mono speaker – the sounds are “music” to my ears. The only thing the OTA hasn’t fixed is the battery – but I can live with the 2500 mAh job they’ve lied about.
Nevertheless I will still continue to read the reviews here because they are revealing, open and honest. It’s up to us to take note and heed the warnings and make our decisions based on those.
At the end of the day a review is just one mans opinion. We have to form our own based off our own past experiences as well as the experiences of those we read or watch on the internet. I never base my judgments solely on reviews but I do use them as a valuable tool to let me know if I am being ripped off.
On its face the Z1 isn’t a horrible phone, it is a good mid range device. It’s just that compared to what they advertised it is not anywhere close. If they had been truthful about certain aspects the review would have recognized it as a good mid range option with some minor flaws (i.e. battery) but because they continue to lie about specs, anyone expecting a really good camera will be let down.
I received mine in the previous week, not bad… all work. camera is not sony (is omnivision) but is better than my old lenovo A850 (I paid same price in august 2013, USD$179), screen is wonderful, battery is in same level of A850 (2 days for my use), Gps in the same level, fingerprint work (need some time to learn), build construction is a plus, very superior than A850. I agreed about lies from kingzone, but is a wonderful smartphone for USD$180, one of the most complete for now
I actually prefer omnivision cameras to Sony’s. I just wish Kingzone would acknowledge that they use one. I can’t buy from a company that is called out on a lie and continues to lie. Elephone and Ulephone were both caught lying and both took their lumps and acknowledged it and have since been open and honest with the community. I used to own a Kingzone phone, the K1 which was excellent.
No I care about value for money. This phone has a processor that is power hungry and terrible GPS and poor graphics performance. Why? Because Doogee think they can trick customers to buy an “octacore”. As mentioned in the article they could have gone for a quad-core MT6582 if they wanted cheap, and added a 720p display or even an LTE modem. Just those additions would have shown that Doogee created a value product rather than buying the cheapest hardware available on the market and trying to make a quick profit.
Look at the JiaYu F2 for an amazing 2015 phone with last years SoC. That device is well thought out. The Doogee is not!
Jiayu F2 costs over 30$ more, but I do agree that it`s a really good device, still at 119$ it would have been a must-buy for a budget phone. With Jiayu you never have to worry about build quality or awful camera and crappy battery, just software updates(there basically are none!)
S3 has been getting updates, hope this is a sign of things to come from JiaYu.
The F2 comparsion is more to do with the thought that went in to the phone rather than a direct comparison. I still think the DG750 could have been made with the same MT6582 and LTE piggy back as the JiaYu F2 for $99.
I don`t understand the hype about 4G. Lenovo and other brands have 4G phones with friggin 8GB of storage! What good is a blazing fast internet when you hardly have enough storage, or why would you download FHD content on a 720p screen? I can understand 4G on 10inch tablets, my Jiayu S1 hits 1.5mb/s with 3G in Bulgaria. In the US/UK their landline is slower.
Back to the point, the 6592m is plenty fast even for gaming. Still better than the S400 and S410. With the 6582 on a 720p display it struggles with even basic 3D games. So by putting a 6592m in there they basically make it a jack of all trades for 99$. If they make it 10$ cheaper it would be a great budget phone for your GF.
The Lenovo A6000 has 8GB of storage, but it also has a Micro SD slot expandable to 32GB. As for content it depends what you are downloading, FHD movies will still look excellent on a 720p screen especially if it is under 6 inches and most games are made in 720p.
I agree about the F2 being above this Doogee on almost every aspect, but if you say it has “poor graphic performance” then maybe you have to try again what the mt6592 is capabl of (especially on that resolution) compared to a mt6582 (especially on that HD resolution of the f2), having two smartphones with those SoCs (one mt6592 HD and one mt6582 qHD) the 6592 wins hands down on every aspect, GPS included. Now go figure when the most powerful has lower resolution and the less powerful has higher resolution. We can discuss about everything else, but the SoC is the only good thing this phone has, the real flaws I see are Ram and Battery size.
Understand now, in Brazil the company Positivo launched “positivo octa x800” it have the same processor, but it carries the same problems. Mediatek is selling defectives chips from old production?
It’s not that the chips are defective it’s that there are newer better budget chips available. The 6592 that is in both this and the x800 was never that great of a chip to begin with.
What upsets me with Doogee and Zopo is that they feel their brand name is worth some added value when it isnt. If you are on a budget of $99 and need a phone then you want the best your money can buy, and this is not it. Doogee are using their “brand image” to sell junk. Zopo went down a similar path but now they are back with better value phones, I think Doogee can offer the same.
I know what Andy is trying, I told them to up their game back when I had by bending DG550 and have done just the opposite.
Anyway the MT6592m is a great processor with a decent GPU for this crappy resolution which would make users enjoy their gaming experience even with such “tiny” screen.
I guess part of the problem is Mediatek, they should offer a dual core Cortex A53 with similar performance GPU at reasonable prices.
My Kolina has a MT6592T and with my latest ROM is alive and kicking.
Which brings us to the eternal problem of software support by this incompetent Chinese companies.

I 99% believe you were so upset because you were eager to receive another of these monster mt6732 and mt6752 phones and you ended with a bone 😛 I agree the specs mixing is quite weird (an avid drinker like mt6592 with a 2000mah battery (even if partially compensed by the low resolution) “plus” the bottlenecking 1gb ram (which also the blueboo and G2 have), but I have to say that the look is quite pleasant on this one… Mlais M9 is more ore less the same thing (also with fake battery specs, not even real 2000mah) made with very average looking/materials, and I’ve seen people loving that thing and no one really complaining about it… Of course it’s plenty of better things out there (and I also wouldn’t consider such a phone for myself, seeing an impressing device like the Umi Hammer at 120€) and maybe doogee should have placed it a couple of bucks less, but maybe some people will find something on this device… and, sorry, thrashing a phone like this before even properly reviewing it’s weird at least, especially since it’s not in your stile, this is maybe the first time I’ve seen such a behaviour since I follow gizchina , I hope it will also be the last 🙂
As mentioned in the article, this is not the first time I have seen the phone. I spent a good long time with it at MWC. I pointed out plenty of issues with it and they have not been fixed for the production model. How could I tell people to it’s great go and buy it? It has nothing to do with not being a MT6732 or not, I am a huge fan of the JiaYu F2 and that has a MT6582, and a very clever specification.

andy is pissed. heheh honest review is good.
I’m upset with Doogee for charging high prices for phones with the Doogee name. If Doogee offered support, frequent updates and had customer service centers that demanded that premium it would be different, but they don’t. They need to stop looking at the bottom line and put some though in to their specifications. A company with the buying power of Doogee can build this phone as a better overall package at the same price and then everyone would be happy.
Hi andy, what about the phone priced at 75USS at garbest, can buy?
I like the part were you told us about the software, the performance, the battery life, the GPS accuracy, signal reception, wifi strength, and the fact that you didn’t waste time writing no sense that doesn’t tell us anything about the phone like saying you can get another phone for the same price, nor recommending non sense like saying X aspect of the DG750 is a bottleneck just to recommend another phones with the same bottleneck.
Quality writing.
Use a Doogee for a week and you won’t waste your time writing about any of that either. But since you want to know so badly here is my experience with a Doogee and all of those things you mentioned. Reading from reviews of this phone, the experience is not too much different:
Software – they use near stock android with a few of their own touches thrown in, nothing that Nova Launcher can’t fix.
performance – They get respectable score on Antutu and other benchmarks but don’t let them fool you. The Antutu score for this may match the LG G3, but it is nowhere close to it in real world performance.
battery life – if you actually use the phone you will be lucky to get half a day
GPS – haha that’s a good one
Wifi strength – as long as you are sitting right next to the router it is very good. Otherwise it is enough to drive a man to drink.
Camera – Doogee lies about their camera specs. There is no other explanation for why supposed “13 and 8mp” camera take worse pics than VGA camera’s a few years back.
In the end though we all know you have no intention of getting a Doogee or even care about one, you are just looking for an argument.
This is a first impressions, not a review. Not sure how you missed that.
At last a no holds barred review on here. Nice one!
Doogee is a crap company. I bought a DG 2014 looking for a cheap travel phone, something I wouldn’t be too angry if I left it in a hotel, dropped it on a tour or had stolen. I never like to take my main phone when traveling. But anyways, I settled on the Doogee for what looked like a promising phone for $125. What I got was a phone with great build quality, one of the worst touch screens I have ever used, a horrible “13mp” camera, poor wifi reception and sub par battery. After two months of use both the SD and Sim card readers stopped working. Dealing with Doogee customer service was a complete waste of time as they don’t take responsibility for anything they manufacture. This was the first time I have ever had a company refuse to fix their product, even when I offered to pay for it. I have dealt with most every brand in China and have never had this bad of service, even from OPPO (which many here know I despise).
I ended up giving up after 3 months and bought a Redmi 1s. Stay away from this horrible company.
Aren’t Doogee, same as Bluboo, no.1 and probably many others, all KVD International. Sure I read that on here sometime.
I’m sure they all use the same OEM for certain projects but the final specification is up to the brand. For example I’m pretty sure the upcoming Mlais M4 is just a 5.5-inch version of the Doogee from the same company (they even call it Iron bone on their website). Specs include LTE, Android 5.1, HD display so the OEM has the supply chain just Doogee are more interested in profit than their customers.
Ok, makes sense. Shame as I thought the earlier Doogee DG850 was a nice phone with great build and a decent camera, though I was waiting on the Elephone P4000, which looked the same but more of everything and that never materialised.
Something happened with the manufacture process for the Mi4 clones (maybe legal action by Xiaomi) because the Elephone P4000 and the Zeaplus Z4 were both cancelled right before they were supposed to release.
O/T any chance you could take a look at the Amkov OX5 lens, looks interesting, possibly Zeiss (Jena?) lens and presale interest keen.
Looks good, I know Gizchina.es had something similar on review I’ll see if I can find the link
KVD owns Doogee and manufactures several devices for other companies such as the ones listed. But the ultimate specs/design of the phone lies with the brand (Bluboo, No.1 etc) not with KVD. KVD just builds them.
and it’s there (in the building process) that things are really made… “KVD just cr*ppy builds them” would be more appropriate then, with specs and design you don’t plan failures in sd or simcards, or bad touch responds.
The build quality from KVD is excellent. When you buy low quality components, as Doogee does that is when you get SIM failures and bad touch. KVD doesn’t buy the components for the companies. Take KVD out of the equation and look at Foxconn, one of the largest OEM’s in the world. They build phones for Xioami and Apple among others. Xiaomi and Apple use completely different components.
Doogee is officially run by KVD as a sub brand, it’s not exactly the same thing as foxconn with xiaomi and apple. If with the Doogee brand they “go for the cheap” then it’s all their fault, since it’s their own brand.
I get what you are trying to say but the problem lies with Doogee management themselves. A lot of OEM’s have a brand they use to sell phones, Foxconn has Infocus. They are usually separately managed and sometimes even separately owned from the OEM side of the business. It is Doogee management that is selecting the components to use in the phones. KVD just provides them with manufacturing.
Doogee had a few failures like the DG2014, but even Samsung, HTC and Huawei have few really crappy headsets in their lineup costing way more than Doogee offerings.
Samsung, HTC and Huawei also have some very good to amazing headsets in their lineup, Doogee does not. Those companies also have some sort of customer service and a warranty, Doogee does not.
The DG350 was the first quad to be under 99$ with 1GB of RAM and a 720p display over a year and a half ago. The DG850 has an incredible camera and build, also the same with the DG800. Two friends have the DG800 and 850 and both are marvelous headsets for their money. As for customer service and warranty most manufacturers are like that, apart from the BIG 5 Chinese brands.
I have used the Doogee Hitman and the camera is good for the money but it is no where near incredible. Anyone who said that has obviously never used the Xperia Z series, Vivo Xshot or Meizu Mx4, those are incredible cameras. All Doogee’s I have used have incredible build that has never been the problem. The cheap components inside that build is what the problem is.
I have used about a dozen Chinese brands this is the first time I have experienced anything like this. Most were than willing to overcharge me to return and fix the phone. Doogee wouldn’t even do that.
Hi there. I’ve been a frequent visitor of gizchina lately and noticed that you’ve got a lot of experience with Chinese phones. I couldn’t find another way of contacting you so I decided to sign up on DISQUS and write to you. Basically what I’d like is to get your advice on the phone I should get. What I’m looking for is a phone with:
*a nice 5 inch screen (I’ve got small hands, 5.5 inch is just too big for me unfortunately)
*64 bit processor (MTK6732? Snapdragon 615?)
*at least 2 GB RAM
*at least 8 GB ROM
*minimum 2500 mAh battery
*dual sim
*decent front/back camera (I’m not much into taking pics)
*Lollipop (or able to update to it)
*All this in the price range of 150 – 200 Euro.
I’ve noticed Nubia Z9 mini but it is a little expensive since I plan to buy two phones. Should I wait for a price cut or look for something else? Your advice is greatly appreciated.
5 inch and 64 bit is a bit tough to find. The THL 2015 is one model that has a 5 inch screen and 64 bit processor and has a good camera. Can I ask why specifically you want 64 bit?
Well mostly because of Lollipop and I’ve also read somewhere that 64 bit processors are more energy efficient. I’d really love to find specs like Elephone P6000 with a 5 inch screen. There are so many nice specd phones at the 150-200 euro range but 5.5 inch screen size :/
Thank you for your reply.

is a good phone, but i do not know the company. it does seem like a great phone which i was going to buy. but i am buying the 5.5 inch Elephone P7000
64 bit is still in its infancy and shouldn’t be your deciding factor for a phone. It is supposed to be more energy efficient but real world tests have shown it to be negligible right now. In a few years when 64 bit is fully optimized it will be a clear advantage. I wouldn’t rule out phones right now just because they are not 64 bit, you will end up passing on some great phones. Lollipop is available on a range of phones.
The only phone I would consider buying whith similar specs is the Umi Hammer. I think Andi will post the full review in a couple of days.
There are also some “older” devices that deserve to be considered, like the Meizu MX3 and the Xiaomi Mi3. They might not have fancy 64-bit processors but they are brilliant phones. MX3 will get lollipop very soon.
+1 for Umi Hammer, even if the battery is 2250 with that SoC and resolution it will be more than enough to bring you to the end of the day.
Somehow you expect a 150$ device to compete with 500$ flagships, thats just not possible.
Those phones can all be found for as low as $300 now but that’s not the point.
I don’t expect it to compete with them at all, but by you saying it has an incredible camera you are implying that it does.
Yeah, I should have clarified myself that I meant incredible for it`s price range. All I`m saying is that a couple of friends plus my GF have Doogee devices and there’s nothing wrong with them, and were actually a great value for their money.
I have had one Doogee device (DG2014) and a friend had another one (DG550) and both of them were the very definition of budget devices. They aren’t horrible phones, they just didn’t do anything good. The touch screens were non responsive at times, the camera was average at best and the battery life was non existent. Your friends obviously had a different experience. I would say they are not good value for the money, especially with no customer service to speak of. I can think of better devices for the money.
Both devices were duds, heard many complaints about above mentioned models. The DG550 was expensive at the time too.
I’ve been torn between the Doogee Turbo F1 and the Blackview Ultra A6. But since you have had bad experiences with Doogee products, how would you regard Blackview products, particularly the A6?
I have a budget of $150 CAD or under and need a good phone around the specs/features of the F1/A6 such as Hotknot, smart wake, etc.
A good screen between 540p-720p, 4.5 inches to 4.7 inches, and cameras between 5.0-8.0MP inner camera/8.0-13.0 outer. Any recommendations?
I have no experience with Blackview but have heard mixed things about them. For the $150 range and you not having power user requirements I would just get a Xiaomi Redmi 2 or even a Redmi 1s. They are two of the best phones in that price range.
andy is pissed. heheh honest review is good.

I think you failed to mention that the G2 has a horrible display and it`s camera is just as awful. Build quality is cheap as hell. I`m sorry, but build quality is still more important than specs for any phone. You could have made a few camera samples. Doogee could have priced the DG750 at 89$. They will drop the price eventually. Looking forward to the review of the F2 from Doogee.
I agree with your point too, I do believe they could have priced the phone better. Also I think he’s being a bit harsh since from what I’ve found there’s no phone at a comparable price point offering an alloy frame. The next phone that I know of with such is the Doogee hitman at 140 USD followed by the Lenovo Vibe X2 and THL 2015 at around 200 USD.
In regards to build quality vs specs, I agree with your perspective too but that comes down to personal preference.
Also… I may point out too that I don’t understand the flak he gives about the non HD screen given it’s size. He’s said plenty times before in other articles even recent ones that a 720p screen on a 5.5 in panel is fine. However in this case it is not even though it’s only 4.7 in? Especially given the fact that both end up with a ppi in the region of 240-260.
It’s not about the resolution it is about the value. There is no value here except the alloy chassis (which I pointed out is the only good point of the phone). Doogee did not think about the spec of this at all. They went for the cheapest parts possible for the most profit. The HD screen was just a suggestion as was 2GB RAM,.
There are plenty of alternate specifications for this device at $99 which would have made more sense eg.

MT6582

Yes I agree with both you and and Steven in that at this price it’s not a great phone. I don’t have any personal experiences with the MTK6592 chipset but I can definitely see your point regarding it. It’s in a bad place at this time where it has to compete with their new 64 bit line at a similar price point (At least for this phone). Not exactly sure why Doogee didn’t choose the 6732 but I’d say they didn’t use the 6582 because it’d be too similar to the Doogee Hitman they’ve been offering for a while at a higher price point.
However, the point I was making wasn’t that it’s specifications represent great value but that it seemed not so terrible enough to not consider it at all if your priorities are inclined in a different way. Edit*: In specific if you were a person that has a priority on a metal chassis and are quite price sensitive.

So help me please andy, I’m looking quite a long time for a “small” phone (4.7 inch or lower) with some decent specs (mt6732/mt6592 and 2-1GBs of RAM)… With a maximum price of 200$
Get the Xiaomi Mi 2S. Gem of a phone!
Looks nice but it’s old and thick…plus it doesn’t have an sd card slot which is a deal breaker for me..
I still think it’s one of the best phones in the around $200 range (not a lot of stores still sell it though). And it really isn’t thick if you ask me, unless you’re using the larger 3100mAh battery. As for the SD card slot, well, that’s something you have to deal with. Do let us know what phone you choose in the end 🙂
Sure i will, tell me yash- what would you say about those four devices:
Elephone G2
Doogee F1 turbo mini
Xiaomi Redmi 2
And Andie’s enemy- the Doogee Iron bone
I don’t know Yash’s thought but my order would be this:
1. Xioami Redmi 2
2. Elephone G2
3. Xiaomi Redmi 2
4. Elephone G2
5. Doogee F1 Turbo Mini
6. Any phone other than the Iron Bone.
The Mi2s was an excellent phone but it is becoming increasingly difficult to find. I have seen a few on sites like Ebay but they are usually incredibly overpriced ($250-300). Personally one of my favorite 4.7 inch phones is the Gionee E3/Blu Life Play. An very thin body (7.9mm), SD Card Slot, good camera, really good HD display and can be found for as little as $105.
