Meizu makes some of the better looking phones in China. There’s an obvious inspiration at times, but other than that most phones that Meizu has released do happen to be decent pieces of kit.
The next in line Meizu is going to be the m2 note, successor to the m1 note. According to leaks, the phone will have the octa-core MediaTek MT6753 chipset, 2GB of RAM and a 5.5-inch/5.7-inch display. That’s what Meizu don’t want you to know before the launch, but there’s something they do want to tell you about — the home button.

Meizu sort of happen to be the originators of the glowing halo home button which is now extremely popular. If I’m not wrong, the MX2 was the first Meizu phone which had that feature, and has since been a favourite. A teaser posted by Meizu however suggests that it is about to change. The teaser reads ‘Home button revolution’.
I’m not sure if we do need another revolution as of now, but I’m pretty excited to see what Meizu do with the so-called revolution. The phone is set to launch in a couple of days from now, at the ‘602’ event on June 2nd.

Apple made fingerprint sensor in home button (I don’t see a point of fingerprint sensors, but never mind), what will Meizu do?
Yes, its just hype and not usefull.
It definitely is usefull, as a person who unlocks his phone quite a lot it is simply faster and more convenient than typing my password every single time.
Remove it for a start, it’s an antiquated feature even if you find one million uses for it, it takes precious space…
this year i am going to buy a new phone, sooooo many announcements with the new chip mtk6753 and helio10 and helio20, bigger batteries, fingerprints and android pay, so they must add the NFC chip, this is going to be a great year.
i just hope that the GPS will work with no problems, no loss connections, 2 meter accurate, no weird locations.
mediatek processors now have no gps issues….

UNLESS they are adobting “fingerprint sensor/homebutton underneath glass”, without the metallic frame. I think I read something about that somewhere.

Get rid of it already.
They are gonna do something stupid like left, right ,up and down or worse instead of getting rid of it. The longer they stay behind the curve because of it, the more ridiculous it gets.
At least the dot was somewhat elegant and required little space.
On big phones even onscreen buttons are not ideal when on the bottom (too far for comfort) , more could be done about it on both the hardware and software side.
I like the glowing capacitive Halo home button. If they make it a round hardware button instead, hopefully they still make the ring glowing.
My guess is it will be a home button with gesture support so you will be able to swipe over the home button in different directions to access functions or launch apps or whatever. They might incorporate a finger print scanner into it but I doubt it as I think they would leave this combination for the upcoming MX5.
