Just a few days ago we posted a render of the Nubia X8, now real photos of the device have been published showing a rear fingerprint scanner.
After releasing the Nubia Z9 range of phones, ZTE’s flagship brand now needs a phablet device to replace the rather large and rather old Nubia X6. The phone to take the place of the X6 is rumoured to be the X8 and these are the first photos!
These images show the Nubia X8 along with a Z9 giving us the impression that the new phablet will be a 6-inch phone, so larger than originally rumoured but smaller than the previous 6.44-inch X6.
Gizchina News of the week
The photos also show us an all alloy body, fingerprint scanner below the rear main camera and ti also seems that Nubia have given us a physical shutter button for the main camera.
Under the large 2K display there will be a massive 5120mAh battery, 4GB RAM, up to 64GB internal memory, dual sim, space for an SD card and most likely a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset. WE also believe Nubia will provide some good camera kit, possibly even PDAF on the main camera.

Any idea on a release date? This or the Gionee E8, mmmm…
both are gonna be ridiculously over priced… are u REALLY that stoked for these ?
The Nubia will be overpriced but the Gionee will be priced fairly for the specs. Still gonna be half the price of a high end phone in the uk.
true…
There are plenty of cheap chinese phones but theres always a compromise which is usually the camera, but guaranteed this wont be the case here!
hmmm
And of course the price is going to be through the roof…
yep.. i echo your thoughts , my friend 🙂
Nubia makes some very good looking phones
actually the brand is ZTE, it seems to get lost in its branding though. not very prominent, but u remembered Nubia so that’s still a win.
I know, I wrote it in a bad way.
I meant I like the Nubia line.
Not much fan of other ZTE phones.
Right. They really push the Nubia branding. It kinda makes me wonder why though. ???
Seems they made this line only for few markets in Asia.
Here in the US there’s no Nubia but you can find ZTE
(It’s actually a sponsor of NY Knicks and Madison square Garden).
I don’t know the whole story , I can only guess it’s simply marketing.
good good … now kill off all the buzz with a $900 price tag 😀 !
Ugh… no mention of software! The specs look great, but we’re living in an era where the best thing that any manufacturer can do is to take stock Android and make NO changes.
So… did they ruin it? And how much did they ruin it?
