Meizu MX5 turns up in hands on video

meizu mx5 spy video

Just a few days ago Meizu launched the m2 note, then yesterday the web was a blaze with rumoured Meizu MX5 hands on photos. Now there is even a Meizu MX5 hands on video to look at.

Unless this is a very cleverly crafted video, we feel that we are actually looking at the genuine Meizu MX5 here. The breif video clearly shows us a phone that looks a lot like the MX5 which we found in leaked photos yesterday, and even share some details about the phone such as the dimension of 146 x 74.6 x 7.9mm and a low weight of only 147g.

Gizchina News of the week

The phone in the video is clearly a working prototype running Flyme and we get a very good up close and personal look with the device.

Other details mentioned in the Meizu MX5 video are a Mediatek MT6793 chipset, Android 5.0, 3GB RAM, Micro SD card, 3150mAh battery along with a new fingerprint button in the front below the screen. The MX5 could launch as early as the 30th June.

Is the 6793 an underpowered version of the 6795?

Nobody knows what it is exactly. It’s an octacore chip clocked to 2.3GHz. Probably slightly overclocked variant of MT6795.

Same design, with even subtle changes – Fail
    MT6793 – Fail
    No extraordinary feature – Fail

    Therefore………drumroll………….
    MX5 Overall – Fail.

Now fanboys can start the cussing, name-calling etc.

    Clearly its fake
In the setting under device name there was “Meizu MX4”
And there is no such thing as MT6793

I thought the MT6793 was the MT6792 but with world mode LTE.

        There is no MT6792
Their 64 bit smartphone chips are:
        MT6732, MT6735
        MT6752, MT6753, MT6755(Helio P10)
        MT6795(Helio X10), MT6797(Helio X20)

Clearly it’s not fake. Same phone already spotted in TENAA.

It’s a very compact 5.5 incher. It has same width and height with LG G3, but slimmer and seems like has metal unibody like famous HTC One.

Also seem like it has fingerprint scanner. We know from TENAA it has AMOLED display.

SoC is a kind of mystery. I was thinking TENAA did a typo.

My guess is, it will be a sub 2000 yuan handset.
