Mlais have finally released their marathon munching battery phone with a new name and slightly altered specifications at a lovely low price.
Originally the phone pictured above was called the Mlais MX, but that has changed to the Mlais MX Base now that the phone is available to buy at the rather attractive low price of only $139.99. The name isn’t the only details which has changed as final specifications also reveal the inclusion of an IR remote for controlling home appliances and a Medaitek MT6735p chipset (the more potent 1.3Ghz SoC as opposed to the MT6735i running at just 1.0Ghz).
Gizchina News of the week
The rest of the details remain the same and that’s rather good news as it means the sub $150 smartphone boasts 2GB RAM, a 5-inch 1280 x 720 HD display, 5 mega-pixel front camera and 8 mega-pixel Sony IMX219 rear.
Like so many other phones this year, the major selling point of the Mlais MX Base is the battery size, and with a 4800mAh battery on the inside Mlais certainly have that area covered. It’s also good to see that quick charging of that huge battery has also been implemented and that the MX Base retains dual LTE SIM slots and room for a micro SD card.
To top it all off the Mlais MX Base comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop, and can be pre-ordered online now for just $139.99. For those of you interested in this phone the supported LTE bands are 800/1800/2100/2600MHz (according to this page).

any news about Elephone P7000 review .. it take long time !
Would like to see this as well. A dutch review site which hardly ever covers chinese phones actually has the review up today.. still waiting on gizchina.
Someone who doesn’t use Chinese phones on a daily basis would be quicker at doing a review because it would just be a standard review. A site like this though needs to take its time and be as thorough as possible when doing a review like this. This is a phone that has been hyped and speculated for months. If I was doing this review, this would be a phone I would use for about 2-3 weeks exclusively trying to find every little thing that was right or wrong with it before publishing it. Phones with this much hype deserve that treatment.
So many big battery phones lately.
Is this one worth more than the Bluboo x550 ?
if someone can help me ?
Worth more how? Do you mean is it better? Specs wise they are almost even, on paper the Bluboo has a bigger battery (5300). Bigger doesn’t always mean last longer, a lot can depend on the software each one runs and if the claimed number is actually correct. It looks like a lot of these are either using the same distributor or odm as the parts on all these new phones are almost identical (720p, 6735, 2gb ram, 16gb rom, 8mp rear etc).
Yes, but Bluboo X550 i 5.5″ so that mean that his bigger battery will last shorter. This one is 5″.
But Bluboo has lower spec 6735 1GHz with Mali 720. It makes less than 20k on Anttutu. Way to low for 2015 smartphone. It’s on pair with Snapdragon 400.
“Way to low for 2015”. Based on whats? You realize both this and the 400 are designed to be budget SoC’s for budget phones?
Snapdragon 400 was launched in 2013 for budget phones.
Now we have 2015 and low budget does not have to mean poor multitasking or GPU performance.
The Snapdragon 400 was but the 410 which is their new 64 bit model was just recently launched and has similar performance to this phone. You do realize Antutu tells you next to nothing about mutlitasking or performance right? It is an arbitrary number to compare next to other arbitrary numbers. The 6735 is more than capable of multitasking and the Mali 720 can handle moderate gaming. it was never designed or intended to be used for power users, for that there is the 6752 and Helio line of chips. It was intended to be a budget SoC for people who don’t need a lot of power.
Thx for ur help. Still hesitation between mlais base and bluboo x550…Does someone know a reduction code for the mlais base, in presell at gearbest?
Yes, with the Code MXGB the phone will cost only 109 $ till today.
In theory it should but thats not always the case. Until someone does some hands on tests we won’t know.
Is this really going to be equiped with Sony IMX219? The one with 180fps SlowMotion recording?
You are thinking of the IMX220, that is a much different camera even though the numbering is similar. This one can only handle 720p video.
why does some makes their camera so complicated! lol it makes more sense if it goes 214, 219 then 220 is it not?!
Yea I don’t really understand the numbering on their models for instance:
IMX135 – 13 MP
IMX136 – 3 MP
179 – 8 MP
188 – 1.1 MP
230 – 21 MP
234 – 16 MP
I like the way Omnivison does it’s very easy to read:
OV13850 – 13MP
OV13860 – 13MP
The OV stand Omnivision, the 13 stand for the MP count, and the numbers flow 860 is newer than 850.
I mean http://www.sony.net/Products/SC-HP/IS/sensor1/img/products/ProductBrief_IMX219_20140910.pdf#page=1
and http://www.sony.net/Products/SC-HP/new_pro/april_2014/imx219_e.html
i believe imx 234 was the MOST badass cam , currently in LG g4 ???
It is one of the two best that Sony has to offer now along with the IMX 240. Whether its the most bad ass or not is another question. The G4 takes excellent pictures but it also has excellent optics, OIS, Laser focus and a bevy of software tweaks helping out that 234 sensor.
so a combination of h/w and s/w on SOLID foundations are key to killer cam ?!
i believe the ABOVE statement should be sent as an URGENT memo to all those chinese OEM who make GREAT phones but for their SHITTY cams. Im sure , smart Asians (and im asian , lol) can work out an INEXPENSIVE method to make arrangements for top-notch h/w and s/w on a SUB $180 phone to make KILLER cam phones!
viva la revolution!
Nubia Z9 mini has it too. Nubia.in
IMX219 is poor sensor. The same was used in Mlais M52.
what about Siswoo C55? The specs look familiar
Sounds good. I’ve been looking to replace my THL 4000 and this would fit the bill perfectly. But after searching I went with the THL 5000T with an older soc and Kitkat, it’s also more expensive than this Mlais. Why, you may ask? Apart from the fact I need a backup phone by next week, it’s because it’s a THL and I know what to expect. Solid, reliable and proven. I know I’ll get the promised battery life and I also know it’s actually 5000mah. I also know the software will be optimized properly. In other words, let someone else be the Guinea Pig.
Band: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz, WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100MHz, FDD-LTE B1/B3/B7/B20, Support 2G & 3G & 4G LTE Network according to Coolicool. The same price I see and over there….
No Dual Tone Led Flash its a new feature does it support TD & FDD LTE both. Battery Removable or not ? OTG support ? SD Slot ?
