Xiaomi claims to have shipped 6 million Mi Bands, 10 million Mi 4 units

It wouldn’t be unfair to say that Xiaomi is on a roll. After finding themselves second on the list of wearable tech makers for Q1 2015, Xiaomi has announced some impressive figures about some of its products.

The Mi 4, for example, is now claimed to have 10 million users worldwide. That is quite an impressive figure, given that the Mi 4 wasn’t particularly the most successful Xiaomi phone of all time. One would imagine that most of these 10 million users call China, India and other domestic markets where Xiaomi operates their home.

The Mi Band is already regarded as one of the best wearable gadgets we’ve seen. The device hardly costs any money, and tracks your fitness and sleep. There’s also a hacked app that allows you to use it as your notification system! Xiaomi say that they’ve sold a total of 6 million Mi Bands since its launch.

Xiaomi have an event planned in India this week, where they’re going to celebrate the success of the Mi 4 and announce ‘something’. We’ll keep you posted as and when more info on that comes!

How they can ship so many mi4 and I can’t find a black 64gb LTE MI4 anywhere?

The majority of the Mi4’s that were sold were the white 16gb models.

Is it really that hard? AP dealers in Malaysia usually have them in stock.

10 million units in whats almost been a year from who is supposedly the worlds #3 largest mobile phone manufacturer is not very impressive. (Not to mention their home market is also the worlds largest) Its pretty obvious now redmi sales are whats driving this company; it’s their bread and butter.

In contrast Samsung sold 12 million S5’s in the first 3 months and don’t even get me started on how many iPhone’s Apple sold.

Xiaomi played the “worldwide” card so it’s fair game to compare this to the worldwide sales of others.

Hate coming my way in 3… 2…

Not hate is coming your way, most Xiaomi fans would agree that compared to the Mi3 and the Redmi sales have been very sluggish for the Mi4. As for the Redmi, it should be driving this company. Xiaomi sells its phones in developing markets where the majority of people can’t afford a Mi4. You would expect the Redmi series which is significantly cheaper to be the driving force behind their sales. It’s the same with a company like Gionee, all the talk is about their flagships but their budget models sell more overall.

They sold 10 million units of Mi3 within 8 and a half months, turned out reaching same point took 2 months more for Mi4.

They have to think about that.

The biggest reason has been increased competition. When the Mi3 came out there was no One Plus One which also sold for $300 and had flagship specs. The Chinese market for cheap flagships has exploded over the past two years and the demand in China has finally started to level out, which is why Xiaomi is making a huge push to India.

There always will be competition. That way of thinking won’t help them.

I think they didn’t get serious competition enough.

Also interestingly they begin to selling Mi4 in India almost 6 and half months after it’s initial launch. Other countries get it even later worse didn’t get it all.

    I say bravo to Xiaomi.

I’m intellectually honest to understand that I shouldn’t compare them with other companies that have been on the market for decades, that sell worldwide and that take advantage of subsidized markets.

So numbers are not simply good, they are great. Any entrepreneur would dream of having their numbers and growth.

That said, I say bravo also because they lowered the bar of prices, other Chinese brands have lowered their prices to compete with them and that’s a good news for any customer, not simply xiaomi ones.

I wish them good luck for the future, I hope they will invest more into Leadcore, and keep bringing us all those electronic candies they have done already and not just phones.

Ohh, last but not least I believe into their plan of becoming the first phone manufacturer in the world. Just look at how many jealous haters they have already.
That’s a sign of being a great company as well

I still don’t get how the Mi Band get the number one spot in wearable gadgets, When I first saw it, I was ready to bet some money that this limited ugly piece of plastic will be a complete fail.

The price, you can try a wearable without spending a fortune, and the functions are enough for a lot of people.
