Doogee’s 6000mAh S6000 Xiaomi Mi Note clone getting 2GB RAM upgrade

doogee s6000

We’re not sure what has come over Doogee recently, but their newest phones are starting to actually seem like good value. Are Doogee finally being generous with their phone specifications?

The Doogee S6000 is a phone we have spoken about once before, and we were pretty impressed when we first heard about it. Sure the design is a rip off of the Xiaomi Mi Note, but we can’t expect a leopard to change its spots overnight.

What the S6000 does represent (on paper at least) is pretty good value for money. At only $139.99 (that’s the recommended international reseller price) the phone boasts a 5.5-inch HD 2.5D display, 6000mAh battery, Mediatek’s PumpExpress Plus fast charging (good for a 75% charge in just 30min) a screen to body ratio of 75% and a thickness of just 9mm.

Processing power comes from a Mediatek MT6735 chipset running at 1.5Ghz, that also means LTE will be part of the feature list. Doogee originally announced the phone would have 1GB RAM but have now switched to a much more generous 2GB RAM.

Overall the specs and design (although a clone) look very good for the money, but the proof of the pudding is in the tasting and we will reserve final judgement when (if) we eventually get to try the Doogee S6000.

i don’t think they’ll be able to fit 6000mah in such a small 5,5″ phone at just 9mm… if they do they need to have a new battery architecture and could make millions out of it. 😀

        Or maybe they could write 6000mah, on a 4800 battery .. it s a famous trick…

Lately many big battery phones come out , Bluboo, Mlais, and this one …All are really poor specifications.. maybe better to wait for the Gionee more expensive phone…

Keep in mind a lot of these companies measure at the thinnest possible point (usually the very top) and claim that to be the overall thickness of the phone. The THL 5000 was 8.9mm so this one is probably about 9.5-9.9 if the battery specs are legit.

more like 10-11mm. which still wouldn’t be a deal breaker if it has a REAL 6000mah battery. btw, balco… you had a lot of china phones in your hands and live there, am i right? what do you think about bluboo (especially the x500), or zeaplus? i’m trying to stay at 5″, but it is hard. waiting for the ecoo e03, the jiayu s4 or the bluboo x500.

I dont live in China, I live in Thailand but I have had quite a few Chinese phones (its a growing addiction lol). I have never owned or used a Bluboo so I can’t comment. But Zeaplus I am wary of when it comes to phones. They have announced 3 phones now and released none of them. They have released a pretty decent smartwatch though. I would wait till they finally release a phone and read the reviews of them.

A few 5 inch phones I do like that have been released lately are:

Xiaomi Mi4i – can be expensive though if you don’t live in one of their launch countries.

THL 2015 – THL is one of the few brands I have never had issues with and always had a quality experience.

Siswoo Cooper i7 – You can read the Gizchina review of it (link below).

Umi Hammer – not the best looking but good specs and great durability.

Xiaomi Redmi 2 – if you don’t need flagship specs this is one of the best phones with a sub 5 inch screen.

thanks for your input. i’m really considering the zeaplus now, as they promise european support centers, 2 year warranty and a neat price. only downside is it’s humongous size… 🙁
otherwise i’ll have to wait for the bluboo x500 or the jiayu s4! 🙂

Trust me I would wait for them to actually release a phone and follow up on all these promises before committing to anything. They have been promising phones for awhile now and not released anything. Wait for reviews too, a lot of people bought into the hype of the Elephone P7000 (myself included) and so far it has proven to be mediocre at best.

Personally I would love to see Doogee release a good phone. I owned one Doogee and it was both good and absolute horrible at the same time. The build quality was surprisingly excellent, the ROM was pretty much stock Android. Those were the goods which are two things most smaller companies can’t get right (see Elephone). The bad was everything else a touchscreen you have to abuse to get to work, a horribly interpolated camera (said 13mp but I suspect it’s actually 5mp), no customer service to speak of, horrible battery life.
