Meizu’s m1 note may not have lived a long life, and Meizu will certainly hope the m2 note doesn’t live the same fate.
The m2 note was announced some weeks back. It happens to be Meizu’s budget phablet, and with decent specifications and a lucrative price tag, Meizu hope to fight it out against the likes of the Redmi Note and other Chinese phones that have come up in recent times.
The m2 note comes with a MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor, has 2GB of RAM and either 16 or 32GB of on-board storage, which is of course expandable via microSD. The phablet has a screen size of 5.5 inches, which packs a resolution of 1920 x 1080p FHD. As you would expect from any 2015 device, let alone one with big ambitions, there’s Android 5.0 Lollipop that runs on the phone out of the box.

The m2 note also features a 13 mega-pixel rear camera and a 5 mega-pixel front camera, along with a 3100mAh battery. The device looks like a decent deal for the price it is going to be sold at; those interested can pre-order the phone from GearBest for US$160 shipped. It’s already shipping from Aliexpress sellers. Mine shipped last Friday and arrived today in the UK

isnt there a chance to activate all FDD LTE bands of the MT6753 , becuase it supports world mode lte ?
I certainly hope so. Lacking support for the B20 (800 MHz) band is a real miss for some countries.
JUP, i need 800mhz here in the Netherlands for good 4G connection. We have also 1800mhz 4G but it doesnt cover the whole country. Thats why i doubt about this phone. 160 euro’s for a phone like this isnt bad though

Thanks, have you heard the news about the launch of the Mi4i in China at 899YUAN (http://www.xiaomitoday.com/xiaomi-mi-4i-china/ ). I am really interested to buy that phone and Ibuygou is selling it at 250 USD during a flash sale which is ending in a couple of hours. Gearbest has it for 238 USD but european buyers get sometimes import taxes around 25€ so I don’t want to take the risk. Ibuygou is doing a great job on shipping to avoid taxe. I was planning to buy the Black MI4 wcdma but my budget is limited.
Import taxes are hit or miss, some people claim one retailer is great for avoiding them and 3 more people say that retailer is not so great. The Mi4 is an excellent phone and I have seen the 3G version as low as $250 USD on some sites but it’s the white one. The Mi4i is still a good phone as long as your not a power user, the SoC in that suffers from the same overheating problems as the SD810 does. If your a heavy gamer I would stay away from Mi4i or get a good pair of gloves. If you dont game much it can be an excellent phone and you will never notice the heat (other than normal heat Xiaomi fans produce). This is all based on first hand experience, a colleague of mine has it and running Asphalt on it for 30 minutes the thing was hot enough to melt an ice cube.
Thanks man, I appreciate your comment and honesty. Well, after seeing some reviews I am aware of the Mi4i’s heating issue. Do you believe if a software update will fix that problem in the near future?
They did come up with an update that was going to fix it and to some extent it did but it is still noticeable if you are a heavy gamer. If your not a heavy gamer it’s a great little phone.
The problem is it’s just a bad SoC, Qualcomm is having a bad year with 64 bit SoC’s. The 410 is vastly underpowered, and the 610 and 810 suffer overheating and performance issues.

I have changed my mind regarding the Mi4i after reading many comments on gsmarena with many people complaining about the heating issue and other problems. I am not really a gamer but sometimes I will probably play FIFA game and I don’t want to wear a pair of gloves. I am thinking to buy the THL 2015 or the Mi4.
I am a huge fan of both THL and Xiaomi. If it was between those two I would pick the Mi4 it’s just an overall better phone, but I do like the THL a lot.

No problem glad I could help. I had the Mi4 for about 8 months and was the greatest phone I ever owned. I only sold it because I am trying to live one month with an Ubuntu phone. One thing to note it is normal for Xiaomi phones to run a little hot (not as hot as the Mi4i) but you might notice it coming from another phone. MIUI is awesome though, it updates ever Friday and the MIUI forums are excellent. If you have any issues head straight to the MIUI forums someone there will be able to help you asap.
I am still hesitating for the Mi4, with shipping costs plus a few accessories I reach easily 300€ for the Black Wcdma. The decline of the EURO against Dollar doesn’t help to import phones from China even if there are nice price drops before the release of the MI5. Anyway, it is a shame that Xiaomi haven’t used the Snapdragon 610 new Soc or a Mediatek Soc for the Mi4i. Maybe I should get a cheaper phone like the Redmi 2 or Redmi 1S.
The Remi 2 is an excellent phone, one of the best budget phones money can buy and the camera is excellent. IF your going to go for one of them get the Redmi 2 with 2GB of RAM. MIUI needs at least 2GB to run at its best.

Thank you, I don’t know if the news from xiaomitoday is true or fake that’s why I am hesitating to get the Mi4i. I have seen so many bad comments about gearbest but Ibuygou are doing their best to avoid import taxes when it is comes to the shipping.
Have had great service from Gearbest, Merimobiles, Pandawill and more recently Geekbuying. As Balco says just use Paypal to cover yourself and encourage good service.
Have never paid import duty, but then I always use the standard ‘free’ mail offering (preferably NL Post) where everything seems to get marked as ‘office supplies’. If you use the expedited services UPS, DHL, etc., then taxes harder to avoid.
i think it’s not bad. But i had a good experience with grossoshop, they are an italian warehouse and ship directly from europe. for me is perfect for avoid custom clearance from china.

Rather get this than any Elephone at any price 😀 Screen is just the best and camera quality is excellent, and Lollipop out of the box. At that price it`s a killer product. Much rather buy this than the Xiaomi Mi4i, performance will be very similar, Mi4i`s price however is almost 100$ more.
Gizchina, is it correct that the M2 note doesnt have gorilla glass like the m1 note? Do you have planned to make a review of the M2 note?
