The ZUK Z1 wasn’t recently spotted on TENAA showing the full design of the phone, now renders give us a little more details and a little bird has hinted at a price.
The ZUK Z1 is the first flagship from the Lenovo backed ZUK brand, and it is all looking rather good. So far we know it will feature a highly stylish metal and glass body, thin design and a large 4000+mAh battery. Leaked specs also revealed a 13 mega-pixel camera, at least 3GB RAM and a fingerprint scanner built-in to a physical home button.

New renders show us how that fingerprint scanner is going to look in real life. Similar in design to the Meizu MX4 Pro’s scanner, i.e a rectangle with metal surround and likely glass face.
Additional renders show us a little more detail of the rear of the phone complete with dual LED flash, SIM tray slot and what appears to be a curved rear glass panel.
ZUK will be holding 2 launches next month for the Z1, where it is believed pricing for the phone could be as low as 2299 Yuan, and that a second 4GB RAM version of the phone might be released. At such a low price and with hardware and design like this, plus rumoured CyanogenMod, is the Z1 enough of a beast to take down the OnePlus 2?

I wouldn’t say take down OP2, but definitely seriously compete with them. There are still a lot of unanswered questions:
1. Actual specs
2. Actual Price
3. Availability
4. How it will be sold
In addition, after tonight’s OP2 revealing, we will better know what we will be comparing with the Zuk1. Example, Zuk price might begin at $370, but a 4G ram version might cost the same as a OP2.
With the right price it can easily beat OP2 easily.
Well OnePlus had certainly opened the eyes of competition, and if the photos that are shown in TEENA are real, OnePlus 2 is not so appealing has OnePlus 1 was, and ZUK seems to have a well designed product, let’s see of specs are also good.
It has a 4000mAh battery, metal frame, fingerprint scanner, 64GB storage and 3GB RAM. Also it will come with its own UI. There is a lot to needs to revealed including price to judging.
Considering MX5, if price would be 2299 yuan, I guess it will contain Helio X10.
Though SD810 despised, it’s expensive for sure unlike Helio X10. I bet even SD808 considerably more expensive comparison to X10.
Let’s say if it has 5.5″ FHD AMOLED display, Helio X10, 13MP back camera and glass back. 2299 yuan wouldn’t be charming enough in that case IMO.
It’s really hard to even guess how much various SoC’s cost compared to one another. This is industry is well known for offering different prices for different customers. Someone as big as Lenovo (who backs Zuk) that buys a lot of Qualcomm products pays less than someone like Elephone would (if they used Qualcomm).
i really don´t like that ugly rectangle button, otherwise it would be not so original but at least not bad looking phone

if the rumor is true that ZUK Z1 will come with COS 12.1 then its a better buy then OP2. especially when OP2’s Oxygen OS is closed source.
