As it happened with the OnePlus One back in 2014, it is Chinese resellers that are first offering the OnePlus 2 on pre-sale even before the official sale starts.
In this case, GeekBuying is offering the OnePlus 2 in both 16GB and 64GB variants. What’s the catch? None… the only difference is that you get a China-bound version of the handset and not the international one.
The OnePlus 2 was announced a couple of days back with a 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB/4GB RAM, 13 mega-pixel laser focus enabled camera and a 3300mAh battery. The phone was also the first to have a launch in virtual reality, which anyone in the world with an internet connection could witness from anywhere.
Gizchina News of the week
OnePlus does offer its devices with HydrogenOS in China, whereas international buyers get OxygenOS with the OnePlus 2. We’ll have to wait to see if this reseller offers the phone with OxygenOS or the latter.
OnePlus phones are sold invite-free in China, whereas buyers in all of its international markets require invites to be able to purchase the phone. According to the listing, the phone should start being shipped 31st August.

That’s quite a markup, 50USD per phone.
Not really considering they have to cover operating expenses, support, and facilitate warranty. If you gave me $50 to send you a phone from China I’d pass because for $50 it’s not worth the trouble.
Why does everyone here expect resellers to act like chartible or non-profit organizations?
329 for 399 -> +USD70
389 for 479 -> +USD90
(shipping from Oneplus to reseller not included)
I guess the ~operating expenses~ are ridiculously higher on OPT (and OPO when it was released).
Batch/regular produced phones are topping 30USD (1qty vs 3k units on aliexpress/alibaba).
Amazingly once again resellers will have full stock of the phone (at a much higher price) but consumers need to go through a faulty invite system.
Consumers in china wont need an invite. Whats with the spreading of false info?
False info? How is this false at all? If there is enough stock for resellers to sell it at overinflated prices. Why is there a need for an invite system?
A lot of these resellers are located outside of mailand china as well but will still have sufficient stock. What’s up with you ever dying love and refusal to admit they make any mistakes?
Perhaps you should re-read my earlier comment, u might just get my point. And if u think i think they dont make mistakes then ur certainly misinformed. They do make mistakes because….you know….they’re not perfect. I just take issue when ppl exaggerate, thats all.
It would be great of you could list some of the differences between the Chinese version and the international version. How is hydrogen OS for example? does it come with google services? is the whole OS in Chinese only? are there network band differences? Basically; can an international buyer use the CN version sold by resellers?
Or are all these questions unanswered? If so, don’t say there is no catch to buying the reseller version just yet.
The Chinese version certainly won’t come with Google services, but most resellers will install that for you before shipment. Gotta wait a bit to know what exactly the difference is, but I’m pretty sure OxygenOS can be installed on the phone. If any, the difference will be in the radio. Shall keep posted
i like how it says NFC and 16mpx in the url… XDXD
ONEPLUS-TWO-5-5inch-Smartphone-Qualcomm-Quad-Core-2-7GHz-LTPS-3GB-RAM-64GB-ROM-16-0MP-4G-FDD-LTE-OTG-NFC-Miracast-Black-339571.html
also if that is to be trusted (which it isn’t, but anyways) it says in the url of the 16GB version “Hydrogen-OS”.
Haha, that’s because sellers usually set up listings before the actual launch (and thus, before knowing the actual specs) and for various reasons, changing the URL isn’t possible.
Well, that only shows that the expectationg were greater than the real life.
