As speculated earlier, it has now been learnt that the next big thing from UMi — the UMi Zero 2 — will indeed have a 20 mega-pixel camera.
UMi earlier teased a render on social media, which read ‘The best smartphone deserve(s) the best camera’, without revealing any details. 20 mega-pixel does sound tempting, but UMi has yet to announce what sensor it would use.
Another bit of info about the Zero 2 that we learnt today is that the phone will have a front LED flash for the 8 mega-pixel front facing snapper in addition to the high resolution rear camera. This does make the Zero 2 a powerful camera phone… but only on paper for now.
Gizchina News of the week
More details about the Zero 2 are expected in the coming days. The company is running a 9-stage teaser set, 3 out of which have been already announced.
The UMi Zero itself was a fairly impressive phone with a Super AMOLED display and a very sleek design, a combination that has eluded Chinese smartphone manufacture for quite a while.
well MP dont mean jack if picture quality fails either way … they need to better optimize their phone and we just might have a gem !
Motorola had a history of really bad camera on their flagships (Moto X) with the new moto x style they changed everything making it mongst the best the sensor they used is the newly baked imx230
With what they did qith the Iron, i don’t really expect much from UMI, unless…….
premium feature = premium price. unsure if that’s gonna work for this phone. umi zero charged for its amoled back then.
edit: feature/cam
thank you Yash Garg, thank you. thank you in the name of journalism for leaving the wrongly assumed launch date be where it belongs to be, in the trash. thank you for finally correcting that flaw that has been bugging me for weeks now.
UMI is infamous for delaying its products, and make new offers. UMI Iron already late by a month or so. Glass quality not mentioned in any of its recent version, earlier they mentioned Gorilla Glass for UMI X2, which was not the fact. BEWARE
