Huawei’s next flagship is the 4.7-inch Huawei Mate 7 mini

huawei mate 7 mini

A few days ago images of a new and unknown Huawei device were spotted, now a working sample has been photographed showing us partial specs for the new flagship.

Huawei smartphone codename CRR-UL00 is here again, but now the phone is seen as a working sample with Antutu giving a away a few clues as to what the specifications might be.

According to Chinese media reports the new Huawei might be marketed as a Mate 7 Mini or Mate 7 plus. The phone will feature 4.7-inch 1920 x 1080 display and run a Kirin 935 SoC with 3GB RAM.

Gizchina News of the week

Apparently Huawei will be rocking the 13 mega-pixel Sony IMX278 sensor on the rear above a 1 touch fingerprint scanner like the full size Huawei Mate 7. Android 5.1.1 ships on the all metal phone which is expected to be a one piece unibody design.

This new Huawei looks like a very promising sub 5-inch flagship, something which is becoming a rarity these days.

Yes! Finally something below 5 inch!

      I couldn’t agree more.

Screen shows model type “CRR-UL00”, based on what’s known for the Honor 7 and Honor 8, that would indicate the ‘Chinese’ version. I can therefore only hope it will be released as an International version too as this will likely have limited 4G support for the international network frequencies.

Finally a true “mini”…. Calling a 5 inch model a “mini” seems a bit much to me .

This front does look more like Mate 7 with than the Honor 7 looked. Except that black border bezels which i hope they don’t keep on their flagships Mate 8 and D8.

This release seems more like them marketing phones in various categories with the fingerprint scanner as main selling point.

The Mali T624 GPU indicates, that there’s a HiSilicon Kirin 920 on Board, not a 930/935. If it sports a 4.7 inch FHD-Display, it still might be a very interesting device.

Oh yes, that screen size is sweet spot for me.

    i called it smart.
Not a fan a small phone myself but i consider this a really smart move.

I’ve read many commenters here begging for a phone smaller than 5″ (and also those ones asking for something bigger than 6″).

so far only Huawei seems listening to them.
You don’t have to fight over the price when you provide exactly what the consumer wants.

    Good Job

Everybody should look that it say 480 dpi not ppi .
And dpi and ppi not the same thing .

      Agreed – dpi mouse sensitivity
      ppi – pixel per inch

      • Max
        August 10, 2015

close call. dpi = dots per inch. has nothing to do with mouse sensitivity. well, it is measured in dpi, but dpi normally is used for printing and such things. so ppi = digital (pixel) and dpi = analog (dots). 😉

Look at the screen. There are 4 onscreen buttons with so much space between them. Also the forth button is used to expand the notification bar. Is that really needed on a 4.7 inch device?
