A few Zopo phones did make their way into the Indian market a couple or so years back via unofficial means, but this is the first time that Zopo has announced a phone for India.
The Zopo Speed 7 is the device that gets to be the first Zopo phone to see an Indian launch. The phone was announced at an event held in New Delhi earlier today.
The Speed 7 will be made available to buyers starting 1st September for 12,999 INR or US$196. It comes with a 5-inch 1920 x 1080p full HD display with an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 SoC along with 3GB RAM and 16GB on-board expandable storage.

The Speed 7 also boasts a 13.2 mega-pixel rear camera and a 5 mega-pixel front facing camera with overall dimensions of 146.1 × 70.6 × 8.65 mm. Very much like the Meizu MX5, the Speed 7 will be a Snapdeal.com exclusive.
At 12,999 INR, the phone is decently priced but Zopo is far from being a household name in the Indian market, which will make the entry something to watch out for.

Zopo usually makes unfair priced phone bu the 13.2 mp camera brings me in mind only the new Omnivision which is brilliant
I bought Jiayu S3 (3GB) and so happy compared to my 1,5 year old zopo990 which costed double the price. I would never buy zopo again, the zopo 990 had several issues, bad batteries, restarting, low quality cell phone calling, worst gps ever, yellow edges on the side of the screen, dead areas on the screen after 1,5 years… The wifi on the Jiayu is also just no match for zopo (even speed7). Wifi ac is soooooo fast. I get wireless 90mbit/s 10m away from my Asus router. Battery is 50% after a day usage, amazing. I would go Jiayu. My dad’s jiayu still works perfect after 3 years!
Right? I remember when everyone made 170 – 220 dollar mtk6752 phones and zopo had only one for 350 dollars (last winter when people were 64-bitted)
