Leagoo Elite 1 launched, here are the full flagship specs

Leagoo have just sent over a PR telling us all about their new Leagoo Elite 1 flagship phone boasting fingerprint scanner, dual 13 mega-pixel cameras and all the other usual bells and whistles.

The new smartphone was announced at a recent press conference in Malaysia. It adopts a physical home button with fingerprint ID security feature that Leagoo call “Finger Flash”. As the name would suggest scanning time is fast with a claimed speed of just 0.5 seconds. A 508ppi resolution scanner ensure accuracy while a Sapphire glass lens and stainless steel surround are there to keep everything protected.

To further keep your phone safe and secure, Finger Flash will use a 360 degree scanner (so you can place your fingerprint at any angle to be ready) and incorporate TEA (Tiny Encryption Algorithm). This will keep your fingerprint data safe while stored in the memory of the phone.

JDI produces the 5-inch LTPS display for the Leagoo Elite 1. Like other flagships the resolution is 1920 x 1080, and we think that is just fine on a screen of this side. The resolution is enough and power consumption is lower. Either side of the 441ppi panel are slim 1.8mm bezels. A layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protects the display.

Gizchina News of the week

Above the display is the front facing camera for selfies, and to ensure a high quality mug shot the Elite 1 has a 13 mega-pixel front facing camera with 77 degree lens and f2.4 aperture.

The rear camera is also a 13 mega-pixel shooter, but Leagoo list this one as being from Sony and having a much larger F2.0 aperture. Dual LED flash will also help in those low light settings.

An alloy CNC chassis holds together the rest of the outside. League say that the body goes through a 12 step CNC process and is made from alloy for perfect heat dissipation and to add shock resistance.

3GB RAM and an octacore 64bit processor is used plus Android 5 Lollipop. Leagoo didn’t mention in their PR which chip they use but a listing on Everbuying tells us its a MT6753 CPU.

32GB memory is pretty generous on a phone with this type of hardware considering the low retail price of only $179.99. What’s more Leagoo will also be offering a “Magic Cover” that has built in notification LED’s and plays patterns to match the tempo of your music.

Overall a good package on paper, but we wonder how the phone will perform in the real world.

They should look very good with that JDI display.

Pity that the 6753 is not what I would call a gaming powerhouse, especially at 1080p. Don`t expect smooth framerate in Modern Combat 5, Nova 3 and Asphalt/Real Racing.

hmm ok , i always thing that 5.5 is the balanced medium for mobile games

I think the most promissing is the Bluboo Xtouch. But I haven’t heard about it for some time. A lot of the Chinese companies announce something but fail to deliver it or keep the originally announced specifications.

You can say that again! I’ve been waiting for Innos D6000, announced in March, Innos said it would be available in April—still not out!

I am not sure how they can state f2.4 is a ‘Large Aperture’. If it was f2.0 then fair enough but not at 2.4.

Why it doesn’t have band 3g 850? guys, you break my heart

    September 3, 2015

I don’t understand either why alot of these phones don’t have the 3g 850 band as well. What limits the amount of bands the phone can have? If it has the 3g 900 band does that then mean it is incapable of having the 850 band?

And they didn’t invite me? 🙁

Leagoo is pretty huge in Malaysia though, almost as large as Oppo. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this thing around the streets.

Thank God! Finally a flagship phone that has a 5 inch screen. Waiting like a little kid on Christmas eve for the reviews 😉

I wouldn’t call a phone with the mediocre MT6753 a flagship, rather a midranger. I do like the fact that more 5″ phones are hitting the market.

        September 4, 2015

or rather, barely a midranger, it’s pretty close to be a ultra budged 😀 SoC

    first look -> ok, nice.
but look at the hands on videos @ youtube -> this thing has so big edges on the display!
    omg

      September 4, 2015

What do you call thick? Overall width of the phone is 69,5 mm, which is on par with pretty much all other ‘compact’ 5″ phones.

Something that’s also worth mentioning is the fact the the 4G connectivity includes the B20 band (800 MHz) support, which isn’t common with the ‘big’ Chinese brands these days.

Can someone tell whether their Leagoo OS is something to look out for? Is this just stock Lollipop with some additional apps, or more like a home brew ROM like Emotion UI or MIU?

      • DeMichaelis
        September 4, 2015

i dont mean the thickness of the phone. i talked about the black-borders from display to the phone-edge.

        • Burs
          September 4, 2015

Again, this is pretty much on par with all other compact 5″ screens. It far from thicker black borders other brands are offering.

      • Airyl
        September 4, 2015

It’s a lightly skinned version of Stock Lollipop.

Leagoo are way over their heads! Who would pick that over K3 Note and Redmi Note 2, when both products are superior and from trusted brands, and actually cost lower?
Their past phones have had lots of problems, so why would anyone jump ship for Leagoo?

      September 4, 2015

      Someone who don’t want 5.5″ screen ?

      • Flaat
        September 9, 2015

Or a k3 note that overheats and is riddled with spyware and other crap. A phone that needs root or new rom to become a good phone is not a good phone in my book.

mtk6753 will be wasted on this type of device they would have been better going for the helios X10…if it comes shipped as 1ghz it will have all that hardware for nothing

Yes, 2400mAh battery for the Leagoo Elite 1 is rather low. Maybe you will like these phones with large battery.
