Yu YuPix: $100 NFC enabled portable printer for phones

Micromax subsidiary Yu announced the YuPix recently, which is a 6,999 INR or roughly US$105 portable printer for smartphones that run iOS or Android.

The YuPix takes 60 seconds to print 2.1 x 3.4 inch, 291 dpi pictures, which sounds far from bad for a portable printer that costs just around US$100 and comes with NFC as well as WiFi to be able to communicate with your phone.

Further making it impressive is it’s mobile size: 2.99 x 6.01 x 0.94 inches with a 273 gram weight. What’s more, the YuPix is claimed to be water- and fingerprint proof.

To use the YuPix with your phone, you’ll have to have the official app installed. After which, you can simple print photos or edit them before they’re put on paper for you. A 750mAh battery comes with the YuPix.

As you may have guessed, the YuPix is India-only at the moment where buyers can purchase one via Amazon.in.

It would be really cool if Yu manage to bring the YuPix overseas, or a smart Chinese OEM gets ‘inspired’ by this… wouldn’t it?

Would be awesome to have this 😀 My photos barely leave my phone’s storage and having one of these might change it.
