OnePlus’ phones aren’t the most easy to get hold of, but they’re certainly some of the most in-demand ones. The OnePlus One last year, and the OnePlus 2 this year stand testimony to that.
However, being the young company that OnePlus is, it often does miss out on taking care of a lot of things that it should deal with otherwise. In the case of the OnePlus One, it meant many buyers had to wait weeks to get hold of their phones; the 16GB version in fact came out long after the 64GB one which forced many buyers to choose the larger-capacity one when they did get an invite.
Fast forward to 2015, and OnePlus has already reported a couple of delays for the OnePlus 2. These are a lot lesser than last year; what is also nice is that the company is upfront about admitting to their mistakes.

Company co-founder Carl Pei wrote today:
“We know how it feels waiting and waiting for something you really want, while being given ETAs that go unfulfilled. We appreciate the trust and support that you have given to a relatively small and unknown company like OnePlus. We know that you are rooting for us, and want nothing more than to see us succeed. Therefore, it feels extra terrible to let you down this time around, again.”
…and to make it up for that, OnePlus will be holding a one-off open sale for the OnePlus 2 lasting one hour this month or the next.

technically carl said that the open sale idea is one that they are considering. they haven’t said they would do it. if they do, they’ll piss off a lot of people who have been waiting for months. i don’t think they can win, no matter what they do.

Depends … if open sale means the phone will be delivered to you immediately then it will get some people mad. If it just means you can order the phone without an invite you might have to wait a while before you get it.
Already bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, great phone and it was about $200 so thanks but not thanks … you can keep you Crapdragon powered phone….
