Lenovo is preparing for another product launch, with the company bringing two new smartphones to market that will have big, beefy batteries. What are these devices? The Lenovo Vibe P1 and the Vibe P1m.
The company has sent out a media invite to the press for the India launch event on the 21st October 2015 in New Delhi. The words “power play” in gray, a reference to battery life (hence, “power”). It’s clear that Lenovo’s announcement will focus on battery life, something that every consumer can enjoy.
The Lenovo Vibe P1 features a 5.5-inch Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 (not Gorilla Glass 4), a 1920 x 1080p screen resolution, a 1.5Ghz, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of ROM with a microSD card slot for expandable storage, a 5MP front camera, 13MP back camera, along with 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, a 5,000mAh battery, and a home button-embedded fingerprint sensor. To help ease charging time with the 5,000mAh battery, Lenovo will ship the Lenovo Vibe P1 with a 24-watt “Rocket Charge” fast charger which is said to provide nearly 3 hours of talk time with just 5 minutes of charging.
The Lenovo Vibe P1m features a 5-inch, IPS LCD screen with an HD resolution of 1280 x 720p, a 1Ghz, quad-core, 64-bit MediaTek MT6735p processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of ROM with expandable storage, a 5MP front camera, 8MP back camera, along with 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, and dual-SIM slot capabilities. The Vibe P1m will feature a Quick Charge fast charger that provides 2.5 hours of talk time with 15 minutes of charging time.
Accompanying the features of the Lenovo Vibe P1 and the Vibe P1m is USB OTG (on-the-go) functionality that lets you charge other devices using Lenovo’s latest. The Lenovo Vibe P1 is expected to sell as the top device, costing no more than Rs. 20,000 in India. The Vibe P1m will cost below Rs. 10,000. Lenovo’s announcement is a week away, but the invite tells us all we need to know for now.
