Open Thread: What would you be happy to pay for the OnePlus Mini / X?

The OnePlus Mini or the OnePlus X (we’re talking about the smartphone, not the wearable that’s rumoured to accompany the phone) is all set to see a launch before the end of this month. We’ve also seen a lot of the phone already, but what’s left (something that’s of utter importance) is the pricing.

Here we’d like to ask you what you would be happy to pay for the OnePlus Mini or the OnePlus X. There’s a couple schools of thought about the phone: it’ll either be a 2GB or 3GB RAM phone, and it’ll either have a MediaTek MT6795 Helio X10 or the Snapdragon 801.

Both SoCs are fairly comparable, but 2GB/3GB RAM is certainly something to watch out for. What is certain though, is that OnePlus don’t seem to be in the mood to make a 2020 flagship killer this time, but rather a device that will do what its made to do.

Gizchina News of the week

OnePlus have, in their short tenure on the market, been aggressive with the pricing. The OnePlus One back in 2014 for $299 was nothing short of a revelation; the OnePlus 2, this time round, at a starting price of $329 was more digestible but still, a bargain for what it cost.

With phones such as the Letv Le 1 getting cheaper, Redmi Note 2’s knocking the door, and Meizu upping its game, OnePlus will have had to put some serious thought in the making of the OnePlus Mini/X.

So, today, tell us what you’d be happy to pay for the OnePlus Mini / OnePlus X. Chances are that the phone be priced $199; regardless, we’re interested in knowing what’s in your mind about the phone.

    $199 is a decent price,even with 2G of ram (either SD801 or Helio X10).

and I’m speaking as an international customer who lives in a country where there’s no official presence of the major Chinese companies.

obviously the invitation system should be a little more “loose” than before (and it seems it is now since yesterday I’ve got an invitation for the OP2 without even requesting it or posting anything on their forum).

if it will have a good build quality, 3G ram then $199 it’s a great deal. there’s nothing cheaper than that out there (reseller’s price).

i would have consider it if it had helio p10 or sd808.
i heard that the power 6200 on helio x10 is laggy with games, and apps that crash when it overloads-so no thanks, i prefer mail 860mp2, maybe it has less GFLOPS, but it runs better.
and what about sd801, well there is a new chip called sd808, that less heats and has new GPU.

    So think what is better

S808 costs more than S801 and I doubt it runs cooler.

It would be madness to pick the OnePlus Mini over the Mi4C if both are priced $230

All that OnePlus had in 2014 is gone, and that was a good price for a high end phone.

Unless it has an SD-slot/more internal storage, support for LTE band 20, a fingerprint reader, NFC, …
OP also comes with a much lighter, cleaner OS than MIUI which is a big deal to me.

I’m willing to pay $250 if it’s compact (5″ and thin bezels) and the HW is the same as OP 1 (or the chipset is replaced with a Helio one). But it must have an SD slot. If it doesn’t have it, I wouldn’t pay more then $200 for 64GB version. I won’t get it if I can not have 64GB option and there won¨t be an SD slot.

150 dollars. Less screen and battery, maybe.

There may be 2 scenario for One Plus Mini AKA One Plus X.

    1. SD 801 or Helio X10, 16GB internal with SD, 2GB RAM USB Type C with Fast Charge and cost should be $199
    or
    2. SD 801 or Helio X10 32GB internal with 2GB RAM with everything same.

Ideally I would love to have first Option with SD801, not against helio X10 which is again a great upper mid range chip-set but its GPU is somewhat lagging comparable to Mali T720, if it had PowerVr 6430 I would be Sold
