Low Cost Maglev Coming to China


Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive, China’s second largest train builder, has unveiled it’s new low cost Maglev which it hopes to be put in to service in booming Chinese cities.

The new magnetic levitation train from Zhuzhou, is a much smaller and slower transport solutions to those found in Shanghai. The low cost Maglev will only be able to travel at 100 kmh and is just 3 carriages long, which is claimed to be big enough for a whopping 600 passengers!

The company are currently in talks with some of the larger growing cities to have the new low speed environmentally friendly maglev installed to ease congestion.
