A couple of days ago, Huawei closed the month in style with the release of Huawei P50 and P50 Pro smartphones. The devices pack the latest Leica-branded cameras made in partnership with Huawei and top-notch specifications. While there are variants with Qualcomm Snapdragon and HiSillicon Kirin 9000 SoC, they are limited to 5G connectivity. This is due to the many rounds of sanctions the US government has applied to Huawei. However, a report suggests that 5G will come soon, at least for the Kirin 9000 variants, and probably only China will benefit from this. The company will also unveil a Huawei P50 Pro+ later this year, and apparently, today we’re seeing the charger that will come with this handset. Or perhaps, with the Mate 50 Pro.
Just recently, Honor revealed the Honor 50 Pro smartphone packing 100W fast-charging technologies. Now, it seems that the brand’s former owner, Huawei will also present its own 100W charger to the world. Today, a 100W Huawei Charger with 20V@5A was spotted by China’s 3C certification. The charger in question bags HW-200500C00 model number and may come on a future smartphone. Given the current situation, we’re not expecting a Huawei Mate 50 series, at least not for this year. Hence, we assume that this can come with the rumored Pro+ variant of the Huawei P50 series.
Gizchina News of the week
Huawei P50 Pro+ or Huawei Mate 50 Pro? Which one will debut this technology?
To put things in perspective, the recently announced Huawei P50 and P50 Pro can go up to 66 W fast-charging just like the Mate 40 models. The Pro variant is the only one that supports 50W wireless charging. The trending Pro Plus variants usually pack the most advanced technologies a company has to offer. As per leakster Digital Chat Station, the Pro Plus variant can appear later this year. We assume that it will come with 5G connectivity, more advanced cameras, and perhaps this 100W charger.
If that is not the case, then, we should move the probability of this charging debut straight to the Mate 50 Pro. We don’t know exactly when this handset will go official. The Huawei P50 series, for instance, had many delays and is arriving months after its “usual” window. So far, rumors suggest that the Mate 50 Pro will feature the upcoming Kirin 9020 SoC which might be the world’s first SoC based on the 3 nm process technology.
