ZTE Announce the underwhelming ZTE Blade III

In a market filled with fantastic value high-performance Android phones, one would think a big player such as ZTE would be able to use its buying power and launch something truly amazing! Instead they have brought us the underwhelming ZTE Blade III!

Over the past few month we have seen phones with 4.5 inch high resolutions and power dual-core CPU’s launched for less than $200, so when ZTE announce they are set to launch a budget 4 inch phone our imaginations run wild with what this Chinese manufacturing giant could bring us with their superior buying power!

Gizchina News of the week

For example if a company the size of Xiaomi can launch a 1.7 ghz dual core phone with 8 mega-pixel rear camera for just $240 what are the possibilities for ZTE? Even JiaYu have the (much delayed) $140 dual-core, 8 mega-pixel JiaYu G3 and then their are Zopo with quiet a variety of dual-core phones.

So imagine our disappointment after learning that ZTE’s budget offering is going to be the $250 ZTE Blade III, with less than impressive specs.

The ZTE Blade III will first go on sale in Finland in October and will set you back $250 for a 4 inch screen Android ICS phone, sound impressive? Let me continue.

The ZTE Blade III will come equipped with a 1GHz single-core processor Qualcomm MSM7227A, 512mb RAM and a rear 5 mega-pixel camera! There will also be Bluetooth 2.1 and a micro SD card slot to boost the internal memory of 4GB to 36GB with a 32GB SD card.

Although the ZTE Blade III is a great looking phone I was expecting more from a company as large as ZTE especially at this price!

What do you guy’s think!

I am proud owner of the 1st gen Blade with OLED screen, and it is really a shame that ZTE comes out with such a lame specs. Even Huawei G300, lauched more than half year ago, had better price/performace ratio.

Anyway, it is good to compare them with other chinese companies, but let’s face it; Blade III will be available outside China. What about others? Not so shiny anymore.

ZTE V970 is way better compared to the featured phone above, dual-core MT6577 and 1GB of RAM only downside of this phone is it does not have a front camera, price is also competitive from $190 – $220

Some times, I do not understand some Buyers/Sellers.

Because… single-core, dual-core, quad-core… is… I do not know how I can say this, but some users need a good phone with all 3G bandwidth, or a camera of 8mpx (but REAL 8mpx) or a good design.
Lot of sellers think a good phone must have Quad-Core, but leave a lot of important things out.

I think the Chinese sellers (and brands) must start to see the details of his phones and not a lot in the many of cores. (yes, is important, I know, but is not the only what care)
