6.1-inch Huawei Ascend Mate Phablet leaked! Quad-core and HD

Huawei are a huge Chinese phone maker, and while they have the resources to produce truly phenomenal phones, have yet to really blow us away! Until now! Check out these leaked details of Huawei’s 6.1-inchAscend phablet with 1.8Ghz quad-core CPU!‌

I personally am not all that fond of super huge phablet’s, but know some of you are and are likely going to fall head-over-heals for Huawei’s upcoming 6.1 inch device.

The only image we have of the phone is the one above, but we do have a bit of an insight as to what it might come equipped with. According to reports, the Ascend Mate Phablet will boast a 6.1 inch 1920 x 1080 resolution display, 2GB RAM and a quad-core 1.8Ghz CPU. It is likely Huawei will use one of its own processors in the Ascend Mate, as it has done in the Honor 2 smartphone.

We’ll have more details of this device as we get them.

Different people, different preferences, different needs. Projecting your own on others is lame. Evangelize all you want, but it’s not going to change my preference for a phone that can be 100% comfortably operated with one hand…and for me, that would max out at about 125mm tall & 65mm wide.

There are some praticality issues.
Phones that are “excessively large” tend to not fit in most pants pockets. On the other hand, excessively small phones (less than 4″ IMHO) tend to be uncomfortable in operation.
I´m quite a fan of 4.7-inchers (which I think its the ideal size for a smartphone), and just got my 5.3-inch ZP900. I don´t think I would go to anything larger than that, it just would be quite a brick. If I need anything larger than that, I prefer a full-featured tablet. In fact, 6″ is almost “standard tablet” size. It´s rather heavy to carry on your pocket, to use as a camera, or even to use while driving (okay, we shouldn´t phone and drive, but everybody does that, so…).
I don´t see any “prejudice” on the term “phablet”. It´s just the sum of “phone” and “tablet”, meaning that they are work as both. They have the size of a tablet and work as a phone. No “demerit” on that (even though I think it would look rather ridiculous to answer a 7″ phone, as it would have the same effect as a “watermelon hanging on my neck”). Big phablets are (IMHO) meant to have their “phone” funcion supplied by something as a BT headset. If this things get any larger, soon we will se folks answering phones with their 10″ screens… and the whole point of smartphones which is the portability and ease to use, will be gone.

  Answering a 7″ looks ridiculous just because of fashion ideas you have. Nothing more! You won’t be able to hold a watermelon on your neck for more than few minutes. With a 7″ phone you’ll be able to talk as long as you do with 3.5″ phone.
  Preferring a 3.5″ phone over a 7″ one can only be due to fashion not to functionality – i.e., you can’t fit a 7″ phone in your pockets because of the way you are dressed. If you can fit a 7″ phone in your pockets – it would be a much more useful device than a 3.5″ phone.

you got directly to the point when you asked what added value the directive has.,
I believe that you made a very important point when’ said that it is now also necessary to demonstrate that enlargement is not a problem for deepening.
These issues are tricky because they expose both the exaggerated self-importance of Apple and their small iphone screens ,
and the folie de grandeur of the big screen !
Apple can’t subordinate those interests to the greater global public good.
The main principle of economic and social cohesion is that those areas that have the most catching up to do should receive the most support.
small screens really ARE the compromise !

Huawei needs to call this thing a tablet and stop trying to create confusion. Nobody is going to be walking around with a phone that big. Next year I am going to use my devices to achieve maximum security. I am going to connect various security gadgets to my computer and devices to protect myself and my family.
