6.1-inch Huawei Ascend Mate officially unveiled at CES

Huawei are having their conference at CES where the company are expected to launch some great large screen phones, but one we no longer need to wait for is the 6.1-inch Huawei Ascend Mate.

Leaked photos and specifications of the Ascend Mate have been reported for some time so the unveiling of the huge phone is of no surprise, but at lease we now know it’s official and have a real idea of the specs.

Beneath the 6.1-inch 720p HD display sits a quad-core 1.5Ghz CPU from Huawei’s own HiSilicon chip maker, there is also 2GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage while OS is Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 running Huawei’s own Emotion UI.

Gizchina News of the week

Techcrunch have had an early hands on with the Ascend mate where they describe the large hone as “surprisingly grippable” and put this down to the devices slim form factor (although no measurements have been given). They also found the phone to be impressively fast, with no notable lat or stuttering to be found.

By the sounds of things customers in China and the U.S will be able to look forward to the Ascend Mate, which should launch in the coming months.

More news as we get it.

Disappointed!!!! Yet willing to get their D2 1080 phone, truely a screen of that size needed the highest resolution possible, it is not realy setting a big gap for Samsung to catch up, and when the note 3 comes out this one is going to be left in the dust.
I was realy hoping for a company to set a high bar, but i guess i still have to wait, for a real miracle. Great coverage though exelent job!!
