More Mediatek on the way for Meizu with rumours stating 64 Bit processors to be used

meizu mx4

Meizu have 4 phones for this year, we have seen the first with MT6595 processor and the Mediatek isn’t going to stop there as at least two other devices will get the Taiwanese chipsets!

We know that Meizu have 4 phones prepped for this year, but so far we have seen only the Meizu MX4 launch which is powered by an octacore MT6595 phone. From rumours and insider knowledge the next phone to launch will be the MX4 Pro with a Samsung chip, so what of the remaining two Meizu devices?

Well industry analysts believe that the final two products from Meizu this year will get Mediatek processors, but the more advanced 64bit chips. It is thought that there will be a 5-inch phone (the Meizu MX4 mini) and a larger 5.5-inch phone that will use the MT6732 and MT6752 processors.

Gizchina News of the week

These chips are quad-core and octacore units build around Cortex A53 architecture with LTE capabilities build in. The quad-core MT6732 will be clocked at around 1.5Ghz while the octacore MT6752 at 2.0Ghz.

Use of 64Bit chips is interesting, but what is also exciting is that we will see a larger Mediatek phone from Meizu. This device looks to be their device to take on the popular Xiaomi Redmi Note range!

What do you think of Meizu’s moves this year? And would you be interested in a Meizu MX4 ‘note’?

its all about the pricing, (price wars!!!). everyone right now waits for mx4 pro, with mx4 meizu got spot on, but the international pricing is bad cause its more expensive than mi4/one plus while being less powerfull, the same can be applied to the new devices, if meizu makes a counter for redmi 1s/note they should have same price range if not they wont do well.

i really hope meizu with mx4 pro make it right cause i really want it to be my next main phone 🙂

MX4 iz faster than Mi4/One + so it’s not less powerfull.

I hope they price those 2 devices smartly. Otherwise, there are many young firms who would definitely steal the show !!! i am referring to Zopo meihei 3 or IUNI U3 or Xiaomi Redmi Note !

Price your products competetively Meizu… we want to support you. Please support us also, will you ?

Meizu plays in a different class than IUNI, Jiayu and other silly firms. Their quality and hardware are really nice, like Xiaomi. I think that the 1800 yuan is a very normal price for the fastest phone out now (on antutu).

Using a weaker chip for the 5inch/mini is a fail. Unless maybe they are pricing it as low 799Yuan as competitor to Mi Redme 1 series.

6752 is a really powerful 20nm 64 bit chip. 6595 is very thirsty and old for late 14(cortex a17)

What worries me the most about this article is it sstating that the MX4 Mini will be 5(!) inch. That is 13 centimeter! that is not mini at all. I hope some high end chinese (Xiaomi, Meizu, OPO, Gionee,… ) manufacturer will come with a phone that is 4.3in (max 4.5in) and has the same specs as the flagships. I’m sure there is still a market for that. For myself, I’ve had three 5in phones in a row, and now I’m so terribly happy with my 4.3in Mi2S with Snapdragon 600

    Anyone else agrees?
I for one would love a snapdragon 801 4.3in phone with LTE and 1999 Yuan

Well, sadly for you that probably wont happen, since phone-factorys tend to build bigger phones 5inch is usually nowadays (i like it but well there are ppl that want smaller ones), maybe a new phone-factory will pop out and build small phones (specs like flagships are hard with the current hardware, but that will change soon, because its hardware 😉 )
