Mlais (it’s pronounced em-lays) have recently been on warpath, releasing the M52, announcing the M4 Note and preparing a Lollipop update for the already mentioned M52, and they don’t appear to be stopping anytime soon as they’ve already posted a teaser for what could be a trio of devices that they plan to release later in April.
The teaser picture itself tells us very little. The huge number 3 could mean anything from 3GB of RAM, to 3 SIM card slots or even 3 different models of the phone, while the bottom part confirms that the device is coming later this month. Mlais also posted “The Mlais and M7 and …….?,” which leads us to believe that Mlais is planning to release three versions of a phone called the M7.
Gizchina News of the week
These three versions could be different in terms of screen size and specifications (M7, M7 Max, M7 Lite), or all 3 of them could be different phones released at the same time. Some commentators believe that “3” refers to the Dakele 3 which recently went on sale and that the phone will have a sapphire glass display, though I honestly find that a bit too far-fetched.
What do you think the 3 means? Could it really just mean 3GB of RAM? Or does it mean 3 different phones?
The next mobile phone will have …
1.) a bettery with realy 3200 mAh.
2.) a not stonewashed 13 MP camera
3.) just for a little higher price but still und er 200 bucks.
Yeah, they lied big time about battery, they all lie about something. Lies, lies, lies, liars! Almost every chinese budget phone makers are liars!
You are delusional if you think that Samsung is lying about the camera on the S6, or the battery and so on. Or Apple, LG, Sony, etc. The good chinese brands are: Meizu, Oppo, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Vivo
I didn’t mean that but people are getting dissapointed with battery lifes or camera quality across all possible vendors. Anyone that decide to buy chinese phone simply need to take some things into consideration.
I have since come to understand that with present developement pace it is waste of money to spend 200$+ for smartphone that will be obsolate in 2 years.
No it’s not! You spend much more on other shit, like cigarettes, and you put your health at risk. For example, the Xiaomi Mi3 even today is a very good phone, good camera, screen, battery etc, and it cost around 250 dollars and is way better than all of these chinese cheap phones.
Considering the price gap I would say it’s not an option for everyone.
For about 250$ I would aim for Zenfone 2 which becoming globaly available with warranty and kick ass spec.
The Mi3 is a good phone, but it’s fairly obsolete and lackluster by today’s standards. The Jiayu S3, ECOO E04 or Meizu M1 Note are way better options in terms of features, ergonomics and speed compared to the Mi3.
I agree they have more modern hardware. But with many of us buying chinese phones from shady resellers and taobao shops that give 0 shits about warranty or service, we should also consider the reliability and durability of the product. While I dont have any personal experience with chinese phones from cheap oems, my experience with other chinese tech be it electronics or automotive tells me that there are worlds of difference between the top end and lower end chinese brands. For that reason I would feel safer owning or buying a n older model xiaomi, huawei or zte/nubia as opposed to the newest iocean, jiayu or doggy.
International marketing 101: make sure your product or brandname is usable outside of your home market.
The real question is: will a cheap chinese phone survive 2 years of abuse. When I read review phones arrive at Gizchina reviewers with manufacturing defects that does not sound very assuring.
A quality phone will keep working long after it’s obsolete. My Galaxy S3 may be ‘old’, but apart from having only 1GB ram it still performs pretty well in every aspect even though its 3 years old tech that was dropped on a hard floor many times. Amoled is still beautiful to look at, camera still makes good photos and the S3 also has some quality audio dac/amp. When comparing it to my wife’s Note4, I couldn’t find any way to justify upgrading apart from the bigger screen and faster soc.
If you buy an A brand flaghip model 1 year after introduction you will get a very good price/performance ratio.
Let me tell you something. Here on Gizchina, many of us don’t consider devices like the Galaxy S3 any good anymore because we love nitpicking.
We can highlight the negatives of a phone just from using it for a few minutes. We can discern between a photo taken by a Galaxy S3 from a Galaxy Note 4 from how close to life the color reproduction is.
We count the seconds it takes for the phone to open an
application. We love it when a product is as close to perfect as possible, and once we find something that is as close to our vision of perfection as possible, we stick with it until something better comes around.
Your definition of a quality phone could honestly fit most Chinese phones 2013 like the Jiayu G4 and Newman K1. They’re all still perfectly usable, yet you’re not going to find many people in this website still using them. Why is that? Because it’s no longer good enough for us.
I’m currently using an ECOO E04. When I compare it to my old Xiaomi Mi3, I can see clear differences. The screen on the ECOO is now vibrant. There’s LTE now. Apps open up a second faster on the ECOO. The cameras are pretty similar, but the ECOO’s is faster. The ECOO is more comfortable to use because it doesn’t dig into my palm.
Is the Mi3 still usable? Yes, of course. It’s still a good phone, but why would I settle for less when there’s something better in front of me?
That’s the mentality that most of us have. You may think there’s not enough difference between the S3 and Note 4 to warrant an upgrade, but if any of us were in your shoes, we’d have found the S3 to be unbearable.
You see my point? Your vision and my vision of a quality phone is way different. Now I’ll just leave you to do what you will with that information.
Hi, you sound like you are quite updated on what’s going on with these phones. I am looking to upgrade in the coming months (probably in june), and I am wondering what is worth looking forward to! I saw that list with 10 upcoming phones, but browsing around I have noticed that while most of these phones look excellent on paper it’s another story in real life. Which ones do you think will actually hold up and be good options? I am looking for top of the line Chinese phones, priority is on screen, speed and camera.
