Honor 7 to be priced at $599?

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has gained a reputation for making very good low cost Android phones with good performance and build quality. Their last flagships, the Honor 6 and Honor 6+ went on sale for $320 and $415 respectively. So imagine how surprised I was when I saw that the leaked price for the Honor 7 was $599, completely going against Honor’s normal modus operandi.

If this is true, then this will completely change Honor’s pricing strategy and put them in direct competition with other high-end manufacturers like Oppo, ZTE, Samsung and even Huawei itself. Then again, as this is still leaked information, there is still a chance that the Honor 7 will be priced at a much more affordable price point. If the price is right however, this could signify a large change in how we view Honor as a smartphone manufacturer.

In terms of specifications, the Honor 7 is believed to have a 5 or 5.5-inch 1080p display, and will run Huawei’s EMUI 3.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop, with possibly 4GB of RAM, 64GB internal storage and a Kirin 935 chipset. The device will also have a metal build and supports dual sim, as well as 4G LTE.

What do you think about this leaked pricing? Is it just a fake leak, or is this the sign of big changes to come?

Wasn’t the whole point of the Honor series to offer lower cost models (compared to the regular Huawei flagships) in Europe/West? Countries where the Huawei name is not good. Why would I pay $600 for a phone that offers specs available on $200 phones?

        lol, no seriously.
Are people in China willing to pay that kind of money for a phone that’s not an iPhone or a Samsung?

and the international version is going to cost even more, right?

People in China pay that much for OPPO, VIVO and Gionee so you never know.

I find it hard to understand what market Huawei are targetting with any of their products to be honest! I mean, look at the pricing of their new and upcoming Smart Watch in comparison to all the others and all of their other phones seem to be silly figures for what you actually get too!.

      I don’t understand at all! :'(… lol

Who would buy these phones when you can get a Oneplus two for so much less, or even an Asus Zenfone 2?? Huawei must have their collective heads in the sand if they don’t see how the price competition is heating up for high quality phones from Asia. These lower priced devices will hit Samsung, Sony etc soon too but you would have thought that Huawei would have noticed this inevitable trend sooner.

599 in US Dollar? I think it’s SG Dollar since the price of Honor 6 in Singapore was almost similar when it launched last year…

Don`t know why Huawei are shooting themselves down with those prices? Who’s in charge of marketing there, a monkey?

Most don’t get it. Its a pre-release misinformation, and real price will be far lower and everyone gone be “wow”. Huawei’s Honor lines are meant to be budget handsets, so it will be 325$ mark.
