Real photos of the Oukitel U9 surface

OUKITEL U9

Oukitel’s newest phone has been shown off in real hands on photos giving us the first clear look at the 5.5-inch FHD device.

The Oukitel U9 is an interesting product as it has remained in the news even though we know very little about the phone. So far the only confirmed details are an alloy chassis which uses nano molding technology, dual 2.5D glass panels, and a 5.5-inch FHD display from JDI using Gorilla Glass 3.

With a rounded body and 2.5D glass front and rear the design sounds similar to the latest Vivo phones, and in these photos the phone looks rather good in the flesh too. High end materials seem to be backed by good build quality.

Oukitel have also published a video showing a scratch test of both front and rear panels of the phone. The video doesn’t reveal any other details, but does show us the phone running a non-final UI.

Searching the web we have found rumours and claimed specs for the Oukitel U9 but we are not sure what to believe. Apparently the phone will feature a 16 mega-pixel main camera, octacore Mediatek chipset, and 3GB RAM all for $200, but we will have to wait and see if these details are true.

I think its more of a small hand rather than a large device. Its 5.5″ and those bezels aren’t abnormal.

What? Didn’t you read the credits at the end of the video?!?
Joanna is the public face of oukitel. Sales and online media it would seem. I’m afraid after finding out about the processor downgrade on the U8 I’ve been giving her a bit of a hard time. Sorry Joanna, if you’re reading this!

Jeej, july first they will probably release full specs en features (unconfirmed yet). See comment on video of Oukitel themselves. Looking forward to this phone. BUT, i see realy big bezels in the Video, and lag, Much Lag ! hope they will fix it, otherwise gonna look for an other phone. I want a device that supports 800Mhz band 20 (for 4G internet in the Netherlands) and i hope the U9 have the same frequencies as the U8.

Why is there the home and return keys both on the phones screen and at the bottom of the phone??

It was able to turn on the on-screen button or use the capacitive button just like most Custom ROM out there especially the infamous OnePlus One.

Why not MT6752……,MT6753 performance is low, power consumption is higher.
    MT6752 1.7GHz MT6753 1.3-1.5GHz.
    MT6752—gpu Mali-T760, M6753—gpu Mali-T720.
    elephone P8000 MT6753 1.3GHz……Just because MT6753 is cheaper???

I suspect Mediatek have a lot of influence in manufacturer choices for SOCs. With so many makers offering their phones at special pre sale prices, and the full retail price being maybe 30% lower than 12 months ago, for phones with higher specifications, it would be reasonable to assume that if Mediatek say “use mt6735, we’ll make it cheaper for you”, makers will snatch their hands off. There can’t be much profit left at these prices.

Looks nice! Anyone know if it’s dual sim?

They’ve reduced the icon size, got 5 per row instead of 4, I think that makes the illusion greater. Should be pretty much the same as the U8 but maybe a little thinner.

I thought the renders from here look a lot slimmer and better, no? Is that the same phone? Looks so BIG to me. https://www.facebook.com/oukitelmobile/photos/pb.948391481861415.-2207520000.1435306524./1005831486117414/?type=1&t

right now i’m leaning to buy a lenovo k3 note for $160, than wait for this one. those bezels, this chin, the 6753 question probably again.. 3gb ram and metal? alright, but not much difference. but don’t see much sense right now in unknown oukitel vs quite real and proven k3note model. do i miss something

Vkworld is growing really well, T2 Camera Demonstration,
The 13MP+5MP camera on T2 is fantastic. And you can enjoy the fun of taking photo with dual screens.
