Huawei’s Honor 7 seems to be a little more popular that you might have imagined at first. The phone only launched in China last week, and is already making waves. It was learnt yesterday that the Honor 7 sold out in 2 minutes, and Huawei has gone on to release another statement about the reception the phone has received.
The company said today that it received a total of 9 million pre-orders for the Honor 7. The phone’s pricing starts 1999 Yuan, and goes all the way up to 2499 Yuan in Huawei’s home country of China.
Its specifications, if you don’t remember, are: 5.2-inch 1920 x 1080p display, Kirin 935 processor, 3GB RAM, a 20 mega-pixel Sony IMX230 rear camera, an 8 mega-pixel front facing camera, and a 3100mAh battery. Storage varies from 16GB on the base version, to 64GB on the top-of-the-line 2499 Yuan version of the phone.
Of course the Honor 7 also runs Huawei’s own Android fork they call EMUI 3.1 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The Chinese market certainly seems to have embraced the Honor 7 with a lot of heart, and it’ll be interesting to see if Huawei is able to replicate the success in other markets.
