#bendgate: Elephone P8000 vs iPhone 6. Does it bend?

#Antennagate and then #bendgate, Apple’s iPhones have given the internet a lot to talk about. And this is also something Chinese companies leverage when marketing for their own phones, as you shall see here.

Elephone’s newest flagship (that exists) is the P8000. It has a MediaTek MT6753 CPU and 3GB RAM, fingerprint sensor… just the usual 5.5-inch flagship from China. The previous flagship, i.e., the P7000 suffered from bending issues, which seem to haunt Elephone. Which is why the company is keen on making future buyers realize they’ve done work on the chassis of the P8000 to make it better.

Elephone just posted a video in which a guy is shown bending the chassis of the P8000 and the iPhone 6. Naturally, the iPhone 6 chassis is shown to be a lot easier to bend. The dude even completed the last rites by breaking the iPhone 6 chassis into two pieces.

Isn’t it slightly lame to rip off Apple for being bendable. Surely when you have a huge flaw like that, you shouldn’t be pointing it out in other brands 🙂

not quite scientific, a) should use a machine to apply pressure b) bend the phones are the same point and not on the sim tray of the iphone 🙂
im sure it is less prone to bending and also even if it did, its cheaper to replace than an iphone 🙂

  This was exactly what I was thinking, needs to be done on a machine that measures the amount of force required. Secondly, how do we know the iphone is a genuine one and not some cheap Chinese fake? Not that I’m defending the iphone as I hate Apple as a company, but this video really proves nothing except that Elephone are obviously worried after the disaster that is the P7000!

    im with you on the iphone front, i think the Chinese phone manufactures have come a long way BUT they need to make sure their defence doesnt open up more questions than it answers.
    Elephone – if your reading this, send me a phone and i will produce a video that will show scientifically that your phones harder to bend…. also one to use too 😉
