MIUI 7 coming to China 13th August and a week later globally

Thanks to rumours and leaks, we did have a fair idea about Xiaomi’s impending MIUI 7 launch. The same has now been confirmed by Xiaomi, along with some other details.

Xiaomi will be holding the China launch for the revamped Android fork on 13th of August in China, whereas the global launch for MIUI 7 will take place August 19th in New Delhi, India.

MIUI 6 was announced alongside last year’s Mi 4. The ROM brought a lot of new features along with a design that was build ground up. MIUI 7 is expected to do the same, and more.

Xiaomi’s global face Hugo Barra along with other company execs will be taking centrestage to showcase the new ROM. Xiaomi’s even willing to get its fans to attend the event, details about which can be found here.

What do you expect from the new-gen MIUI 7 ROM? MIUI 6 is known to be a tad too resource-heavy sometimes, which is something I personally expect to be addressed on the new ROM.

I also hope they improved memory management, because for my own personal use, 2GB is hardly enough for MIUI v6. First day or two without reboot is ok, but then suddenly even phone app is starting up for about 4-5 seconds, which is simply unacceptable. Good news for officialy supported phones, but others might wait a little bit longer to get their versions.

Yes! Literally had exactly that happen with my Mi4i. The firmware is terrible, apps taking AGES to load, some apps not working properly, crashes, laggy scrolling and gestures in some apps. Such a shame as the hardware and camera are really nice. Don’t understand all the positive reviews it got, the firmware is atrocious. Xiaomi will have to really fix up if they come to the US or Europe or they could face a big blacklash.

Because of this I’m satisfied with Cyanogenmod 🙂

I expect i won’t come to devices before end of August, and nothin else.
It would be nice that it don’t use so much of RAM, and if it miricable fix heating up of devices, such as Mi4i
