HTC just put Android on the iPhone and called it their own

There’s countless iPhone knockoffs on the market. HTC just seem to have added one to the list.

The HTC One A9, the newest phone from the Taiwanese phone maker best known for its aesthetics, is essentially an iPhone clone (pro GizChina readers might in fact call it a clone of something like a Ulefone Be Touch).

The One A9 looks a whole lot like the iPhone, complete with the rubber-metal painted stripes around the body. If you’ve ever wanted an iPhone running Android, you’re in luck!

There’s still hope, though; the One A9 is yet to go official from HTC, but from what it looks like, we’re looking at the real thing (i.e., the pictures you’re seeing here).

The One A9 looks to have a curved glass on top, and if that be the case with the final, retail version, take it from me that HTC’s going to bet big on it; after all, the marketing folks will need to have something to differentiate it from other (i)phones on the market.

It is disheartening, to say the least. HTC, with all the hoopla around industrial design and metal bodied phones, and of course, the classic One M7, were the least expected to put out something like this.

What sells is what wins, unfortunately.

Are you joking?! The iPhone 6 is HTC One M7 clone. This is HTC’s design, not a clone.

      Errr, are you retarded.
      The One M7 was a unique design that Apple then copied parts from.
      HTC then decided to go all out and make a replica of the iPhone 6, all the way down to the machine drilled holes for the speaker on the bottom, with this One A9.
      Why couldn’t they keep the stereo boomsound speakers and make it more of their own design?
      This is no hero device that HTC needed. Its an overpriced iPhone 6 clone, with a shitty, overheating Snapdragon 615/620 and a single bottom mounted speaker.
      Bravo HTC, Bravo.

  The front and the frame are 1:1 iPhone 6. The back is maybe a htc thing but they made to many jokes about Samsung and Apple to release something like this.

Y’all should stop all these stupid talk about copying and all. Maybe manufacturers need to make oblong phones just to satisfy critics. There is nothing in this world that is entirely new or different.

  I totally agree with you here, Every design is inspired by another design. But I can’t deny the fact that HTC did push it here! I would buy this if the price where to be competing against the iPhone’s. But judging from the previous models. I highly doubt a low price.

    Right lumia and Sony are obvious choices. But I personally don’t like lumia for windows but Sony I am a fan since z3. Sony is expensive. But I want an affordable one like mi 4

I don’t want to see here copycat accusations. Especially if it sounds like Apple propaganda.
I don’t care that who copies who, but Apple put iOS on an Android phone for iPhone 6 would be more accurate description. Not the other way around.
This phone gonna be a fail because it’s coming with early 2013 flagship specs with 599 euros price tag.
HTC deserves to die with that stupidity.

    I said that it would be MORE ACCURATE than that HTC put Android to the iPhone, because dead smug of the Apple was so cocky about that iPhone 5 had ideal phone size and the iSheeps agreed at the time.
