The Oukitel U7 Pro is best described as a new age budget phone. It’s not like we haven’t seen $70 phones before, it’s just that they hardly had the design of something like the U7 Pro.
That said, you’d usually expect your $70 phone to be fragile and not extremely well built. Oukitel want to tell the audience that is exactly not the case with the U7 Pro; while the phone isn’t advertised to be waterproof, the factory have put together a video depicting just how careless you can afford to be around a source of water with the U7 Pro in your hands.
Gizchina News of the week
The touchscreen is the only component that doesn’t seem to be unaffected by the water running over it besides that, the U7 Pro holds up pretty alright.
If you aren’t aware, the U7 Pro is a $70 phone with a 5.5-inch HD display, a MediaTek MTK6580 quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB ROM, 8 mega-pixel rear camera, 1.3 mega-pixel front facing camera and a 2500mAh battery.
I’m very wary of videos that come from the actual company. It would be very easy to slip this in a clear waterproof cover or treat it with something Liquipel and no one would ever know. Let’s wait and see till consumers try to repeat these same tests.
