New Elephone P8000 comes with Android 6 and changes

Elephone have announced that they plan to launch an updated version of the P8000, so what are the differences.

Elephone’s P8000 proved to be quite popular last year, and it must still be a good seller as the company have kept it in production with a slightly updated version.

The new Elephone P8000 will ship with Android 6.0 out of the box, and will see some physical changes to the rear plus an update to the fingerprint scanner.

Compared to the original P8000, the new P8000 will have a slightly larger fingerprint scanner located higher up the back of the phone. The new sensor will also allow users to wake and unlock with a single touch.

Elephone released the news of the new phone on their website, and also said they had plans to updated the original Elephone P8000 to Android 6.0 in May.

Likely using the new P10 SoC and the abundance of P8000 phones it did not sell(like they did with the P6000 and Pro). I assume lots of people are sill waiting for their P9000’s to arrive, but they will be disappointed as this P8000 Pro will be the phone they end up getting.

  The change in the SoC alone makes it non-compatible. The compatibility is the reason why anyone would consider getting an P8000 upgrade so to speak if they likes their P8000.
  Elephone seems in love with designing phones rather than marketing them successfully. Each worker must be promised a phone to design even if they can’t build it in large quantities before the next phone gets the stage..

honestly elephone is the greatest company and im not trolling or being sarcastic, how can they do so much wrong and yet still have so much buzz and ELEFANS!! i am baffled and amazed at the same time

  The point is Elephone do promise reasonably priced phones, some with frontline features. Some like me refuse to pay over $400USD for a phone.

        ok there are ok models of elephone that arent so bad but mjaority have issues, having loose buttons, poor cameras, dead phones and late deliveries, in my opinion they are that bad but maybe thats just me

that must be the dumbest move ever. Why not putting all efforts into upgrading original p8000 to M while trying to give support to some older models instead of this useless release.
Besides, they didn’t upgrade one of the weakest spots of the phone (along with random hardware failures), which is the camera. Pretty horrid on first p8000.

      It surprises me that there are still people who buy into their hype. Their operations department is a joke but their marketing department are doing something right.

OMG so they are going to hold up production lines manufacturing a phone from last year or more, when people are expecting the P9000 or P9000Edge. Many haven’t even got their Vowneys yet and their P9000’s are being delayed till mid April..
Note : heard this news two days ago so the OMG is just in disgust.

AFAIK, it hasn’t happened.
Supposed to release a “B” of the P9000, too, or maybe.
