Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 3 has opened up an entire new segment of phones; devices that offer near-flagship level of specifications, but don’t cost half as much. All top Chinese companies, including Lenovo and now even Meizu have an entrant in the budget phablet competition. If rumours are right, Huawei might have another addition for this list in the Honor 5c.
Alleged successor to the Honor 4c, the phone believed to be the Honor 5c seems to pack quite a punch. For starters, the device is leaked with the Huawei
Gizchina News of the week
A leaked flier with ‘4.13’ written on it suggest that there will be a press conference held on the 13th of this month. However, contrast reports suggest that the phone will launch 28th April.
Honestly, its the specs more than the launch date that we’re interested in.
Besides the Kirin 650, the phone is expected to have support for LTE Cat.6. More details are expected in the coming days. That is, if the launch is on the 28th… if not, we’ll get to know the whole story on the 13th.
Stay tuned.
This won’t be a competitor as such purely on price, Huawei don’t know what the word ‘budget’ means.
AHaha !
The Honor brand has been pretty good with keeping the costs down. The Honor 6 was priced competitively against competing phones from Xiaomi and One Plus. The 5x is one of the best under $200 phones in the US right now.
But surely Huawei don’t know how to make a cheap ‘decent’ spec phone do they..?
they either make cheap phones OR they make em decent …
sad fact for a company with bucket loads o’ potential !
Yep, that’s how they all end up operating like Samsung in the end…
They get too big for their boots and forget what got them there!
Samsung is the worst at “budget” phones. They are either terribly outdated or terribly overpriced. The Samsung A series has Redmi specs at Mi prices.
exactly. it enrages me so much that companies like huawei are so easily swayed and overwhelmed by the spotlight that they start thinking way beyond their heads and end up over reaching and going over board :/ !
they forget their humble origins and beginnings and get lost in the arena of big game instead of serving the low-end and lower-mid range segment which is the sole reason for their meteoric rise in the market !
i hope they realise this sooner and start making KILLER budget offerings again !
SD616 though… The SD650 Redmi Note 3 Pro kicks the absolute sh1t out of that any day of the week, even the 16gb / 2gb version…
There’s plenty of ‘better’ choice at the same or a tad cheaper price than the 5x…
