Today, Huawei announced on its official Twitter handle that the much expected Huawei Mate 10 flagship smartphone will sport a 4000 mAh battery which will last for an entire day on a single charge. Recall that Huawei Mate 9 shipped with the same battery capacity thus this flagship smartphone is only following the trend of its predecessor. With the year almost gone, the Mate 10 series is probably the last premium Android series to be released.
How exactly the 4000 mAh battery will last users for a day was not detailed in the short video clip, however, the clip gave an obscure clue that we might have a system-on-chip. The Huawei Mate 10 which will be released on the 16th of October in Munich, Germany, and it is expected to sport the first ever AI-powered chip – Kirin 970 chipset. The Kirin 970 chipset has a dedicated NPU (Neural Processing Unit), which will manage all AI tasks. In all honesty, we don’t really know what this really means yet but I guess we have to wait for a few days to find out. The Kirin 970 chip is obviously the main focus of this smartphone and Huawei believes that with this chip, the Mate 10 is not just a smartphone but something more.

The Huawei Mate 10 is expected sport a bezel-less display with 18:9 aspect ratio which is actually not new as numerous smartphones have been released with this feature. This flagship smartphone will have a dual-camera setup with a 20MP and 12MP cameras. Another eye-popping aspect of this smartphone is the speculated price. So far, it is expected that the Huawei Mate 10 will probably sell for over $1000 in some countries which means that this phone will be more expensive than iPhone X in some sectors. Huawei must have a solid marketing strategy in place if it must sell appreciable units of this smartphone at that price.
