While I have never been a fan of the iPhone X notch, it seems that may be the new hot trend in the mobile market. Yesterday we saw Asus announce a pair of devices which the company claims “fixed the notch”, though I’d beg to differ. Now, we’ve got images of an unreleased Vivo device called the Vivo V9 appearing in billboards in Indonesia.
The sign shows the device, in all of its thin bezel glory, sitting with a notch at the top of its display. The V9 still seems to have a bottom bezel, though it’s incredibly small, even compared to the V7 before it. We don’t get a view of the back, though I assume we’ll see another full metal affair like on the V7.
Gizchina News of the week
Besides the slim overall bezels of the phone, the billboard shows a 24 MP selfie snapper will be housed in the notch. The image on the screen is of Agnez Mo, an Indonesian singer, songwriter, and actress who is vivo’s brand ambassador for the V series in the country.
Aside from this, we know surprisingly little about the new device. Considering there are billboards promoting it, we can’t imagine it’ll take long to see an official release. We’re frankly surprised the device has stayed hidden for so long. We’ll be staying on the lookout for more news on the Vivo V9, so stay tuned.
