Vivo was the first ever company to launch an in-display fingerprint reader phone. The handset dubbed as Vivo X21 UD was introduced in March in China. And it seems that the handset is finally arriving in other global markets. The company recently took to Twitter to announce the Singapore debut will be on May 5th. And as per 91mobiles, the handset might launch in India in May and go on sale in June.
The Vivo X21 costs RMB 2,898 (~Rs 29,900) for the 6GB + 64GB variant. The 128GB variant, on the other hand, costs RMB 3,198 (~Rs 33,000). However, the Vivo X21 UD (In-display fingerprint variant) costs RMB 3,598 (~Rs 37,000). According to the source, Vivo will price the handset above Rs 30,000 in India which is in line with the Chinese pricing.
Gizchina News of the week
The Vivo X21 UD is a premium mid-range phone if you take out the fancy biometric tech out of the equation. It has a powerful Snapdragon 660 SoC with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The display is a huge 6.28-inch Full HD+ panel with a notch and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The screen-to-body ratio stands at 90.3 percent.
Camera-wise, we’re looking at a 12MP + 5MP snappers and a 12MP selfie shooter. Of course, Vivo bakes in AI features and its own Rubik Cube technology. It is also loaded with Jovi, Vivo’s own virtual assistant.
There isn’t any official confirmation about this right now but that will be known as soon as Vivo announces it on their official channels.
