Oppo just recently outed its Super VOOC technology with the launch of the Find X Lamborghini Edition in Paris. It is currently the fastest charging tech available on the planet with a promised top-up of a 3730mAh battery in 35 minutes. Oppo uses a 10V 5A recharge configuration in the high-tech Lamborghini Edition. Sadly we weren’t able to see the actual technology in action but we might see Huawei do it soon.
As per reports from Chinese media, a Huawei power adapter made by Astec Electronics (Luoding Co. Ltd) passed 3C certifications that promises similar speeds. The model number of the adapter can be seen as HW-100400C00 in the image below along with its 10V/4A fast charging specs. The maximum charging power of this adapter will go as high as 40W. This would break the ceiling of the 22.5W fast charge in the P20 series.

The Honor Magic that was released in 2016 came with a 5V/8A fast charging tech and it promised full top ups in 45 minutes. If the above specifications are correct, then we can expect Huawei’s next-gen Super Charge to cut that to 30 minutes. As to where we could see this technology, rumours swirling on Weibo suggest the Mate 20 might come with the powerful tech in October.
Huawei’ s Super Charge is right up there with Dash Charge and VOOC when it comes to speed and efficiency and it is about time we got something that can relieve us of those long charge times in 2018. We just hope it doesn’t show up as a super expensive tech this year like Super VOOC.
